Minutes to Bell Time

Allysin Kay (Champion) vs. Thunder Rosa

NWA Hard Times Pay Per View January 24: World Women’s Championship Match

The two women ran at each other as soon as the bell rang with Kay getting the early advantage stomping Rosa in the corner. Kay got a two count after a Northern Lights suplex, and then continued to throw body shots at Rosa in the corner. Rosa rolled to the outside to get a breather, and Kay brought her back into the ring with a suplex. Rosa surprised Kay with a dropkick to shift the match back into her favor. Similar to Rosa earlier in the match, Kay rolled to the outside. Rosa didn’t let Kay have the time to breath as she hit a Pendulum dropkick and ran Kay’s arm into the turnbuckle. Back in the ring, Rosa locked Kay into a crossface but Kay escaped. To follow up on the turnbuckle shot, Rosa continued to work the left arm of Kay.

When Rosa had Kay in a Fujiwara arm-bar, it seemed that Kay would have to tap out. Thunder Rosa threw Kay off the ropes, and Kay slipped around and hit a German Suplex for a near fall. With Rosa climbing the ropes, Kay rolled to the outside where Rosa would attempt a somersault senton, but Kay caught her and powerbomebd Rosa on the apron. Back in the ring, Rosa would go back to the top rope, but Kay again evaded. The match seemed to be over when Kay hit Thunder Rosa with a tombstone, but Rosa kicked out at the last second. Kay attempted a superplex, but Rosa pushed her off and hit a missile dropkick. Kay hit her signature move (AK47), but Rosa again kicked out.

At this point, the match again turned into a slugfest. Kay again went for a superplex and Thunder Rosa again evaded this time getting a sunset bomb. Kay went charging into the corner, but Rosa moved and Kay hit the post. Thunder Rosa then locked in an arm bar that caused Kay to nearly tapped out. Thunder Rosa finally hit Kay with a driver to win the match and become the new World Women’s Champion.
