AEW Revolution February 29: AEW Woman’s World Championship

After MJF evaded for the first part of the match, Cody ran to the back. He the ran the distance of the ramp clotheslining MJF into the ring. Wardlow pulled MJF out fo the ring, Brandi threw beer in Wardlow’s face, and then Cody hit Wardlow with a suicide dive. MJF caught Cody coming back in the ring and Wardlow ran Cody into the post.

MJF spent the next several minutes working over Cody’s arm and wrist. Removing Cody’s boot, MJF refocused his offense on Cody’s injured toe. He even but the toe to a chorus of “You Sick F***” from the Chicago crowd. Cody kicked MJF to the floor and went to hit the ropes, but Wardlow jumped up on the apron. When Cody refocused the fight back on his opponent, MJF was busted completely open. Cody hit MJF with a number of fists to the top of the head and a powerslam. MJF answered with a draping spike DDT. When MJF went for the cover, he put his feet on the ropes as Wardlow held them down. Paul Turner saw and didn’t make the count.

Brandi ran across the apron and jumped on Wardlow, but he caught her. Cody attempted to hit Wardlow, but hit Anderson instead Back in the ring, MJF hit a low blow behind the referee’s back for a near fall. Cody suplexed MJF over the top and both men fell to the floor.

Back in the ring, they exchanged fists until Cody went for the flip flop and fly. MJF dropped to the mat before Cody could hit him with the elbow. When Cody went for the Cross Roads, MJF reversed into the Double Cross. As MJF went to hit Cody with his own weight belt, the referee took it away and Cody hit a low blow as the referee attempted to put it away.

Cody got the belt, hit MJF, and then convinced the referee to let him use it once more. MJF cried at Cody’s feet and hugged him before spitting in Cody’s face. Cody hit the Cross Rhodes twice. When Cody attempted a third Cross Rhodes, MJF punched him in the face with the diamond ring on his finger. The ring knocked Cody out allowing MJF to get the pinfall victory.
