Dustin Rhodes vs. Jake Hager
- Updated: March 2, 2020
AEW Revolution February 29
Dustin rushed Hager at the bell and the action soon spilled to the outside. Dustin tossed Hager over the barricade and out into the stands. Back at the ringside area, Dustin slammed Hager’s arm around the post several times. Hager ducked a clothesline attempt, slammed Dustin on the apron, and followed up with a running clothesline.
Back in the ring, Hager struck Dustin with several knees and wrestled him to the mat focusing on the left arm. On the outside, Hager slammed Dustin into the apron and then the barricade. As Hager was getting some advice from his wife, Dustin sent him to the ground and kissed Hager’s wife.
Back in the ring, Dustin scored with his powerslam and bulldog, but couldn’t secure the victory. Running the ropes, Hager hit a chop block and used a Vader Bomb for a near fall. Hager then clotheslined Dustin in the corner three times and used a gut wrench powerbomb for a near fall.
When Hager ran in to meet Dustin in the corner, Rhodes lowered his shoulder and back body dropped Hager to the outside where his head met the steel steps on the way down. Back in the ring, Dustin set up for Shattered Dreams, but Hager got loose. Dustin used a destroyer for another near fall. It looked as though Dustin would win with a cross arm breaker submission, but Hager countered out of the submission and cinched in an ankle lock submission. Dustin countered out of the ankle lock, but sent Hager into the referee. Hager managed to get a low blow.
Jake Hager utilized a standing sleeper for a referee stoppage.
