Jon Moxley vs. Chris Jericho
- Updated: March 2, 2020
AEW Revolution February 29: AEW World Championship
Moxley sent Jericho to the outside and over the barricade as they fought into the stands. On the outside, Moxley bit Jericho on the nose and Jericho sent Moxley into the ring post. Jericho followed up with a Powerbomb on the time-keeper’s table. Jericho maintained the advantage for some time until Moxley blocked a superplex pushing Jericho to the mat. Moxley came off the top rope with a flying lariat.
As Chris Jericho went for the Lion Tamer, Moxley countered into a heel hook followed by a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Moxley counted the Lion Tamer again and locked in a Boston crab of his own. Moxley released the hold to stop Jake Hager from coming in the ring. As Moxley turned back around, Jericho hit the codebreaker and then cinched in the Lion Tamer.
Jericho shoved Aubrey Edwards a couple of times, and Jake Hager hit Moxley in the face. Aubrey saw or suspected the interference, so she ejected them. Sammy Guevara hit the ring and hit Moxley with the title belt. When Jericho went for the cover, Moxley kicked out.
With both men on their feet, they began a striking battle until Jericho gouged Moxley’s good eye. Jericho climbed to the second rope and dropped a knee on Moxley’s forehead as the setup for the Judas Effect. When Jericho went for it, Moxley ducked and hit a DDT. He then pulled off the eye patch to reveal he could see. Moxley hit the paradigm shift for the pinfall victory
