Minutes to Bell Time

Kip Sabian vs. Cody

AEW Dynamite January 29

Sabian caught Cody with a dropkick at the bell, but Cody took the advantage back soon afterward sending Kip Sabian out of the ring. Sabian and Arn Anderson would get into a verbal altercation. Back in the ring, Cody hit a dropkick again sending Sabian to the outside. Cody accidentally hit Penelope Ford sending her to the floor. Showing concern, Cody picked up Ford giving Sabian an opening to sneak in a cheap shot and the secure the advantage.

Back from the commercial break, both men were on the mat. Cody hit 9 right hands in the corner and a powerslam in the center of the ring. Ford would hop in the ring and grab Cody’s weight belt and tossed her shoe in the ring distracting the referee and preventing Cody from getting the three count after hitting the disaster kick. This brought Arn Anderson into the ring, and Referee Bryce Remsburg ejected Anderson.

With Cody consulting with Arn on the outside, Sabian again distracted Remsburg allowing Ford to hit a hurricanrana sending Cody to the floor. Sabian followed up with a tope con hilo. Ford and Sabian went for their 15th kiss of the match, but Joey Janella snuck between them (stealing the kiss). As Sabian got distracted from the kiss, Cody managed to hit a suicide dive.

Cody hit a springboard cutter and three Cross Rhodes for the pinfall victory.
