Minutes to Bell Time

Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards

Impact Wrestling January 28: Match 1 in Best of 5 Series

Both men began the match with a series of counters and evasions illustrating that they have wrestled each other a lot. With Elgin on the outside, Edwards hit the far rope and connected with a suicide dive. Elgin went for a German Suplex on the floor, but Edwards flipped through. Elgin did manage to slam Edwards into the barricade before sending the match to commercial. Back from commercial, Edwards connected with a Blue Thunder Bomb to even things out. Edwards went from a backpack stunner into a single leg crab and transitioned to an STF.

Holding Edwards on his back, Elgin sat down and drove Edwards face into the mat. It didn’t look safe. Elgin hit a trio of German suplexes for a two count. Later in the match, Edwards hit a tiger bomb for a near fall.

The referee called for the bell when Edwards passed out after receiving a series of elbow strikes to the head.
