Robbie Eagles, Tomohiro Ishii, and Will Ospreay defeat Douki, Zack Sabre Jr, and Minoru Suzuki
- Updated: February 5, 2020
NJPW Road to New Beginning: Tokyo
As with most matches from Suzuki Gun, the attack came before the match and everyone spilled to the outside. Osprey hit a pip pip cheerio off the barricade onto ZSJ. Suzuki and Ishii traded blows on the inside until Robbie Eagles hit a springboard dropkick to Suzuki. The Birds of Prey then double teamed ZSJ and hit cross bodies on the outside.
Minoru Suzuki and Ishii fought to the floor and into the crowd while ZSJ stretched Osprey on the outside. As the referee’s count began, Suzuki hit Ishii with a chair a couple of times. Both men made it back to the ring at 17 and Douki tagged in hitting a snap mare and a basement dropkick.
ZSJ and Suzuki double teamed Ishii twisting the arm. Once Ishii got out of the holds, he began trading blows with Suzuki in the center of the ring. Ishii managed a vertical suplex bringing in Osprey and Sabre. Sabre stuck his knees up when Osprey went fora shooting star. The next few moments, Osprey and Sabre went counter for counter until Douki got a tag. Eagles came into the match and hit Douki three times before Suzuki Gun started a triple team. Ishii broke up a two count and all hell broke loose.
Eventually things calmed back down and Eagles hit a trio of kicks followed by sliced bread and a 450 on Douki’s leg to set up the Ron Miller Special for the submission victory. That’s three submission victories out of the last four contests for Eagles.
