Travis Banks vs. Brian Kendrick
- Updated: January 23, 2020
NXT UK January 23: Qualifying Match for Cruiserweight Championship Match at World’s Collide
Kendrick got one punch in, but Banks served up a barrage of kicks to the legs of Kendrick. Eventually Brian caught an opportunity to drive Banks’ hand into the steel stairs, which he did twice. He continued to target the hand by driving his knee into the hand and then twisting it into various submission holds. Banks eventually got free and hit Kendrick with a number of dropkicks and then a dive to the outside. With his hand still bothering him, Banks hit the Kiwi Crusher but could not capitalize. As Kendrick stood on the outside, Banks went for another dive but Kendrick caught Banks with a forearm. In order to attempt a count out victory, Kendrick pulled Banks all the way up the ramp. While Banks made it back to the ring, Kendrick grabbed Banks’ hand and locked in the Captain’s Hook. Kendrick did manage to hit Banks with sliced bread number 2, but Banks was able to first kick out. The match ended when Banks hit the Kiwi Crusher to pin Kendrick.
