Match

Shirai used speed and gymnastics to evade Charlotte’s offense in the early part of the match. Charlotte knocked Shirai down with a clothesline as NXT went to commercial.

Back from the break, Shirai hit a springboard dropkick to knock Charlotte down. Shirai followed up with a hurricanrana off the top rope. Flair knocked Shirai down with a big boot, but then missed the top rope moonsault. Shirai hit a 619 and then a meteora for a near fall. When Shirai went for her moonsault, Charlotte got her knees up leading to another big boot and a near fall.

With Charlotte on the floor, Io Shirai climbed to the top rope and attempted to hit her moonsault to the floor. She missed, but landed on her feet only to get hit with a kendo stick to draw the disqualification.

Charlotte retains the NXT Championship.
