May 6th Episode of NXT Preview

Charlotte Flair defends NXT Championship against Io Shirai

Flair (8-0) defends both her title and her undefeated streak against Io Shirai’s (2-0-0-1) undefeated streak tonight on NXT. Charlotte has victories in the Royal Rumble and against Mia Yim, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, Sarah Logan, Kayden Carter, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan. Io Shirai won the Number 1 Contender Ladder Match and has a victory over Aliyah. She did have a no contest decision with Toni Storm back in January.

Adam Cole defends the NXT Championship against Velveteen Dream

Adam Cole (2-0) has victories over Kushida and Tommaso Ciampa. The Velveteen Dream (2-1) has victories over Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong. He also has a loss to Roderick Strong.

Dominik Dijakovic vs. Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano (2-1) enters tonight’s match up with just one loss for the year against Finn Balor. He victory over Tommaso Ciampa decisively ended their 3 year feud while turning Candice LeRae heel at the same time. Gargano also defeated : Cameron Grimes earlier in the year.

Dominik Dijakovic (2-4) seems to secure victories leading to the big match, but he never ends up winning the big match. He has wins in 2020 over Damian Priest and Killian Dain and losses to Cameron Grimes and Keith Lee in a singles,  a Triple Threat and a fatal four way.

Finn Balor Seeks Retribution for the Attack

Whomever attacked him is likely looking at a big problem. Balor remains undefeated in 2020 with a 6-0 record and victories over Johnny Gargano, Fabian Aichner, Trent Seven, Ilja Dragunov, Joaquin Wilde, and Alexander Wolfe.

The Debut of Karrion Kross

The attacker of Tomasso Ciampa makes his NXT debut tonight. Karrion (then Killer) Kross wrestled in MLW earlier this year earning a victory over their former champion Tom Lawlor. That was without having Scarlett by his side. I assume tonight will be a major squash.

CruiserWeight Tournament Continues

It’s not clear what matches will take place on tonight’s episode of NXT, but here are the current standings for the CruiserWeight Tournament. Tony Nese has been mathematically eliminated from winning.
