I realize that the newsletter is hitting stands at a weird time for the second week in a row. We’ll get things back to normal next week (I hope).

Along with watching a million hours of wrestling this week, I hosted five live podcasts, guest appeared as an analyst on one, and recorded another to release next month. There is no shortage of wrestling news to cover and wrestlers to interview. It’s a good thing I love wrestling so much.

I’m on the hunt for good Pro Wrestling related Facebook Groups. If you have one that you really love, let me know by emailing me at [email protected]. By the way, don’t forget to join both the Minutes To Bell Time Public Facebook Group to take part in our live conversations during Raw, Impact, Dynamite, and Smackdown.

Body Slam Clothes

I’m also continuing to build out the “Body Slam Clothes” clothing line by testing out new samples. As strange as it may sound, I am very passionate about these clothes, and I’ve priced them more to support my passion than I did to support my wallet. As a consumer, I despise paying extra for “soft” shirts and even more to get a 2XL. It’s also no treat to pay a bunch of shipping on top of those up-charges. With all that in mind, I created Body Slam Clothes focused on putting wrestling inspired art on clothing that you can buy for a flat fee. The shirts are $20 right now for all shapes, colors, and sizes. That price includes the soft style and the shipping. My featured shirt is called “The Chairshot.” You can see it below or go here to shop the whole line.

Two Podcasts I Recommend This Week

I started this week talking to Chilean Wrestling and Movie Star Ariel Levy about his acting and wrestling career. He talks at length about his transition from acting to wrestling, his opportunities on AEW Dark and NXT, and some of his favorite wrestlers growing up. I loved this interview, and you will too. You can watch it by clicking the associated image below.

I ended the week talking with Gary Mehaffy about NXT UK. Since I don’t typically have a Friday show, I don’t always have the opportunity to talk about NXT’s UK brand. If you’re interested in NXT UK and haven’t had a chance to check it out, watch this episode of the Daily Wrestling News Show. Gary and I will help you understand some of the nuances. You can watch it by clicking the associated image below.

Have a Great Weekend!

WWE General News

  • If you haven’t seen NXT TakeOver from 2/14, you should go out of your way to watch it. We’ve come to expect excellent TakeOvers, but this one was better than the last several TakeOver shows.
  • Longest Reigning Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie signs with NXT.
  • Former Impact World Champion Eli Drake signs with NXT. Name changed to LA Knight
  • Former Evolve Star Harlem Bravado sings with NXT
  • Millie McKenzie signs with NXT UK.
  • Hip Hop star Bow Wow has declared that he’s training with Rikishi. He eventually wants a match with Bad Bunny.
  • Progress Wrestling makes a return this weekend (3 PM Eastern on Saturday). This is Chapter 104 and the first event of the pandemic era. The Natural Progression show will of course air on Demand Progress, but also on the . . .  WWE Network.
    • Cara Noir v. Dan Moloney – Progress World Championship
  • Signed copies of Drew Mcintyre’s A Chosen Destiny are on sale for pre-order are available now at BarnesandNoble.com
  • Smackdown fell below 2 million viewers to 1.99 in the ratings. Down 13% from the previous week. Let’s hope we see that bump up for the Elimination Chamber Go Home show.

Elimination Chamber

  • Elimination Chamber is WWE’s next PPV event airing this Sunday (2/21) on the WWE Network. Below is the current match card. Only four matches are official.
    • Smackdown Chamber Match – Jey Uso v. Cesaro v. Kevin Owens v. Daniel Bryan v. King Corbin v. Sami Zayn
    • Smackdown Chamber Winner faces Roman Reigns for Universal Championship
    • Drew Mcintyre will defend the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, and Sheamus
      • Sheamus enters the chamber last.
    • While Lacey Evans v. Asuka is still advertised on the WWE website, it seems that the common understanding is that Lacey Evans is actually pregnant. If that’s the case, then the match will obviously be changed or canceled.

Wins and Losses Book Now Available

My 1,360 page e-book has the 2020 win-loss data for over 400 wrestlers that competed in AEW, WWE, ROH, Impact, and NXT. Every page is in full color, and I’ve also included a bunch of retrospective articles and top 10 lists.

Purchase Here: www.TheWinsandLosses.com

One customer printed out several pages and has been getting them signed by wrestlers. That’s a really fun use for this reference book.

I have this massive collection of wrestling stats and articles priced at $20, but I want people to see my work. If you email me ([email protected]), I’ll happily give you a discount code for 50% off.

If you have a wrestling podcast or if you write for a wrestling website, this could be a valuable tool when discussing professional wrestling in the year 2020.

The Essential Wrestling Podcast airs every Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Join Al Karl, John D’Aconti, John Smith, Gary Mehafy, and Minutes to Bell Time’s Ryan Joy as they take you through the latest in Pro Wrestling. Find out and get the rationale behind who they think wins the week’s matches.

This Week’s Lineup

  • Adam Cole hands out some super kicks at the end of TakeOver
  • Rich Swann retained the Impact Championship at No Surrender, only to get jumped for his efforts
  • Bullet Club has another statement win on Dynamite.
  • Gary Mehaffy stops by to discuss the street fight on NXT UK, along with the loaded card for 2/18

Filthy Island Themed Episode was a Flop

  • The Filthy Island themed episode seemed to fail in the eyes of most fans and critics. They were going for the idea that Tom Lawlor ran a low budget show where he couldn’t afford to bring in something as basic as traditional ring ropes. They succeeded.
  • The much anticipated King Mo v. Low Ki match was over in less than 90 seconds with a non-conclusive finish. The referee believed that Mo tapped out while Team Filthy believes Mo was reaching for the non-existent ropes.
  • The Azteca Jungle Fight was just Savio Vega and Mil Muertes punching in the dark.

Next Week’s Fusion 2/24

  • MLW Underground – A Classic Episode of MLW

MLW Fusion March 3

  • Jacob Fatu v. Jordan Oliver – World Championship
  • Los Parks v. Simon Gotch and Daivari – World Tag Team Championship
