February 2, 2022 – AEW Dynamite

(1)  Jon Moxley defeats Wheeler Yuta…Yuta has Orange Cassidy & Danhausen with him at ringside…Paradigm Shift (suplex variety) for the win (08:03)…AFTER…Bryan Danielson appears in the ring, says if Mox had “support” he would still be World Champion…which made Danielson realize they should be fighting together instead of fighting against each other…together they could run AEW & take some of the best young stars under their wing & create the future…Danielson leaves Mox to think about it.

*Brandi Rhodes in the ring…confuses Chicago for Cleveland (cheap heel heat!)…Dan Lambert (with Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky) interrupts, has some harsh words for Brandi…Brandi slaps Lambert…Lambert brings out Paige VanZant & the brawl is on…the women’s locker room rushes to the ring to separate them.

*Matt Hardy backstage…he’s upset that Private Party failed to win the tag titles…he’s sending Isiah Kassidy after Sammy Guevara’s TNT title open challenge…Andrade interrupts, he’s still working on bringing Darby into the A-HFO.

(2)  Knights of the Black Throne defeat Pac & Penta…Malakai hits Penta with the black mist…leads to Dante’s Inferno, cover by King for the win (10:24).

*Adam Cole backstage…he’s still undefeated, but doesn’t get the proper respect…after he beats Evil Uno, the whole world will know what he wants.

(3)  Nyla Rose defeats Ruby Soho…Ruby misses the Riott Kick…Nyla hits a senton bomb, follows with the Beast Bomb for the win (10:49).

*Billy Gunn & the AssBoys find Jungle Boy backstage & attack…they toss him outside & leave him in a snow pile by the time Christian & Luchasaurus show up to run them off.

*Hangman Page to the ring for an interview with Tony…Hangman is looking for a fight tonight, calls out Archer…Dan Lambert, Jake Roberts, & Lance Archer out…Jake & Dan do some talking, Archer attacks…Archer chokeslams Hangman on the ring steps…delivers the Blackout through the timekeeper’s table.

*Chris Jericho backstage promo…calls Santana & Ortiz’s treatment of him last week disrespectful…wants them to explain themselves…calls for a full Inner Circle team meeting next week…attendance mandatory.

(4)  MJF defeats CM Punk…MJF heads into the crowd…Punk & the ref follow…they make it halfway up the arena steps before heading back towards the ring…MJF pulls tape off his wrist & wraps it around Punk’s neck for a blatant choke, but covers it with his arm like he’s applying a sleeper hold…Punk fades & his arm drops 3 times, bringing a bell around the 14:30 mark…as the ref raises MJF’s arm in victory, the tape falls at his feet & the ref restarts the match…MJF uses a low blow mule kick behind the ref’s back for a 2 count…about the 36 minute mark, Wardlow out…he steps over MJF at ringside to get face to face with Punk, while handing the Dynamite Diamond ring to MJF behind his back…Wardlow holds the ref’s attention long enough to allow MJF to land a loaded right hand to Punk’s jaw for the win (38:08).
