February 4, 2022 – Smackdown

*Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, & the Usos to the ring…Heyman explains the epiphany that lead him back to Roman’s side…Goldberg interrupts, acknowledges Roman…as his next victim…challenges Roman for a match at the Elimination Chamber Event.

(1)  Ricochet defeats Ridge Holland…as Sheamus & Cesaro argue at ringside, Ricochet catches Holland coming back through the ropes & hits the Recoil for the win (01:51).

*Sheamus apparently demanded a tag match during the commercial & it’s underway as we return from the break.

(2)  Sheamus & Ridge Holland defeat Cesaro & Ricochet…Holland makes a blind tag a second before Cesaro hits a Superplex on Sheamus…Holland scoops up the unsuspecting Cesaro & delivers Northern Grit for the win (>02:46).

(3)  Jimmy Uso defeats Erik…Jimmy lands a Super Kick, follows with an Uso Splash for the win (01:20).

(4)  Aliyah defeats Natalya by COUNTOUT…Natalya tosses Aliyah to the floor & follows her out to punish her around ringside…Aliyah get the upper hand just in time to send Natalya crashing to the barricade & roll herself back in to beat the ref’s 10 count (02:25).

*Drew McIntyre to the ring…doctors told him he wouldn’t be ready for WrestleMania but he worked his ass off & made it back by the Rumble…Happy Corbin interrupts to distract Drew as Madcap Moss tries to attack from behind, but Drew saw that coming…Drew makes Moss tell a joke & punctuates it with a Claymore to Moss & a promise to make Corbin’s life hell.

*Wee see video of Sami Zayn getting removed from the “Jackass Forever” red carpet by Johnny Knoxville & a cattle prod…cut to Sami in Pearce & Sonya’s office complaining about his Intercontinental title match…Sonya says he can have it next week…Sami needs some time to recover from the cattle prod, so they settle on 2 weeks from now…Sami exits & Natalya barges in…she demands another match with Aliyah, which can only be won by pinfall or submission…Pearce & Sonya happily agree.

(5)  Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Jinder Mahal…in a CHAMPIONSHIP CONTNDER’S MATCH…Sami Zayn joins the commentary team…Kinshasa for the win (03:17).

*Michael Cole announces that the match featuring Roman Reigns versus Goldberg for the Universal Championship is now officially booked for the Elimination Chamber event.

*Naomi barges into Pearce/Sonya’s office & demands Sonya meet her in the ring in 5 minutes…Sonya says she’s too busy with meetings & such…Naomi says next week…Sonya says Naomi already has a match next week…scrambling to get out of this claim/lie, Sonya says it will be against Charlotte for the title…Naomi doesn’t believe her but Pearce gives his word.

*Natalya approached backstage by Kayla…Natty is looking for Aliyah to tell her about their “Dungeon Style” match next week…but runs into Xia Li instead & decides to tell Aliyah at a later time.

(6)  New Day defeats Los Lotharios…New Day hit a combo Big Ending/Diving DDT on Angel for the win (09:43).

*Charlotte to the ring…Sonya joins her, announces that she spoke to Becky Lynch who says Ronda Rousey has chosen Becky…Charlotte isn’t surprised the new mom chose the other mom, as that’s an easier route…Charlotte chooses Sasha Banks as her WrestleMania opponent…Ronda Rousey to the ring, she’s tickled by all the she said/she said, but reminds us that she still gets to choose…Ronda tells Charlotte that she’s not special and, “I’ll see you at WrestleMania, bitch”…Sonya steps between them & gets a Judo throw & an armbar for her trouble as Charlotte rolls out to safety.
