February 9, 2022 – AEW Dynamite

*Pinnacle members each get a formal introduction before their leader’s over the top entrance…MJF to the ring to brag about being “Better Than the Best in the World” & he’s got the new t-shirt to prove it…CM Punk interrupts, he’s smart enough to know he needs friends so he brings out Sting & Darby Allin…Punk wants a rematch with the man who actually beat him, Wardlow…MJF says he can have it if he beats FTR with any partner on the roster other than Sting or Darby, since everyone else hates him.

*Andrade finally gets his meeting with Sting (& Darby)…Sting says Darby can speak for himself…Darby says he won’t work for Andrade…all he’s interested in is regaining the TNT Championship…Andrade says Darby will work for him & that, in fact, he will be the next TNT Champion, himself.

(1)  Wardlow defeats The Blade…Blade attacks before the bell with a chopblock, giving him the upper hand for about 20 seconds…Wardlow catches Blade on an attempted running knee & the Powerbomb Symphony begins…tonight in 4 movements…a foot on the chest is all that is needed for the win (06:15).

*Penta walks through a graveyard with a shovel as Alex delivers the message…Malakai Black will face consequences for his actions.

*Inner Circle Team Meeting begins with Jericho, Hager, & Guevara to the ring…Santana & Ortiz get their own entrance…Jericho says they were disrespectful to him in their match…Santana says they’re done fighting his battles & playing second fiddle…Sammy tells them to figure out their issues out, drops his Inner Circle vest, & leaves…Ortiz says they settle beefs in the ring…Jericho agrees to a tag match next week.

*Roppongi Vice backstage with Tony…Young Bucks interrupt…Adam Cole attacks from behind & the 3-on-2 beating is on…until Jay White joins in to make it 4-on-2.

(2)  Face of the Revolution Qualifier:  Keith Lee defeats Isiah Kassidy…Lee hits the Big Bang Catastrophe for the win (04:29)…AFTER…MarQuen jumps on Lee, Lee gets dropkicked & rolls outside…Lee catches Kassidy’s suicide dive attempt & slams him to the floor…then catches Quen & powerbombs him onto Kassidy & again onto the apron’s edge.

*Britt Baker clarifies that she brought in Mercedes Martinez…the rematch between Martinez & Thunder Rosa will be No DQ.

(3)  CM Punk & Jon Moxley defeat FTR…Tully gets involved to distract Punk into releasing the Anaconda Vice on Cash…Tully gets a GTS…Cash gets a GTS for the win (18:48)…AFTER…backstage MJF is not pleased.

(4)  Jade Cargill defeats AQA…retains her TBS Championship…Jade catches a cross body attempt & spins backwards into a unique slam…follows with Jaded for the win (07:43)…moves to 27-0.

*Adam Cole & the Young Bucks backstage…Bucks would have liked a heads up about Jay White coming in…Cole reminds them that he’s never steered them wrong.

*Serena Deeb announces “The Professor’s 5-Minute Rookie Challenge” during her entrance…first up…

(5)  Serena defeats Katie Arquette…Serenity Lock for the win (01:00).

(6)  Hangman Adam Page defeats Lance Archer…in a TEXAS DEATH MATCH to retain his AEW World Championship…the match starts backstage, with the opening bell coming as they fight out the tunnel to the stage…Dan Lambert unscrews one top turnbuckle to eliminate the Buckshot Lariat…Jake Roberts hits a short-arm clothesline on the floor but Archer stops him from following with a DDT…Archer hits the Blackout from the apron to the turned-on-their-side ring steps…Hangman flips over the ref’s back to deliver a Buckshot Lariat to Archer on the apron’s edge & both men crash through side-by-side tables, to the floor…Hangman just beats the ref’s 10 count, Archer does not (15:27)…AFTER…Adam Cole to the ring, yanks the AEW title from the ref’s hands, then places it on Hangman’s shoulder & has some words for the champ before leaving the ring.
