January 12, 2022 – AEW Dynamite

*Adam Cole (& reDRagon) to the ring…Young Bucks (& Cutler) interrupt…both teams have only 1 resolution for the new year, to win the tag titles…tension mounting between the teams…Best Friends interrupt…Orange Cassidy hits a double-keg on Cole & the brawl is on…Statlander gets face to face with Cole & Britt Baker races to the ring to take her out…Cole & crew celebrate wiping out the Best Friends & friends.

(1)  CM Punk defeats Wardlow…Punk hits a knee lift in the corner & stops to flip off Max at ringside which allows Wardlow to scoop him up for a powerbomb…which leads to 4 more…Wardlow goes for a cover & MJF demands he deliver more damage…6th powerbomb…7th powerbomb…MJF clears the timekeeper’s table & Wardlow put Punk through it with an 8^th powerbomb…Punk barely beats the 10 count…MJF demands more powerbombs…Wardlow moves in for #9 but falls victim to a devastating Small Package Roll Up by the crafty veteran Punk for the win (14:04)…AFTER…a furious MJF screams at Wardlow…Shawn Spears arrives just in time to get between them & keep Wardlow from murdering MJF.

(2)  Dante Martin defeats Powerhouse Hobbs…as Ricky Starks looks to put the boots to Dante for a second time behind the ref’s back, Jay Lethal appears out of nowhere & yanks Starks off the apron…the distraction allows Dante to hit the Nose Dive moonsault for the win (10:07).

*Chris Jericho (& Inner Circle) backstage with Marves…Jericho says he’ll be ringside to protect Sammy’s TNT title match from interference by 2point0…Eddie Kingston interrupts, he wants Garcia & crew for messing up his knee…Jericho couldn’t care less…the rest of Inner Circle tires of their bickering & walk off.

*MJF stomps back out in front of the ‘tron…he’s furious over Punk’s cheap win…promises that next week won’t go Punk’s way when we get the match we’ve all been waiting for: CM Punk versus…(dramatic pause) Shawn Spears.

*Cole, Bucks, reDRagon, & Britt backstage…Britt & Cole challenge Orange Cassidy & Kris Statlander to a mixed tag match next week.

*Hangman Adam Page to the ring…it’s a new year, he needs a new challenger…Dan Lambert interrupts…Lambert says Page isn’t a real cowboy…Lance Archer interrupt & seems to be coming for Lambert again (like he did a few months back) with a steel chair, but switches attention to the champ…Archer drops Page with a Blackout onto the chair.

*Arn Anderson (with Brock & Lee Johnson) backstage with Tony…welcomes them to Horsemen Country…Tully & FTR interrupt…they’ll face off in tag team action next week.

(3)  Serena Deeb defeats Hikaru Shida…Deeb attacks Shida during her entrance, drops her knee first onto the steps…Shida can barely stand but demands the ref ring the opening bell…Deeb attacks the knee relentlessly before sinking in the Serenity Lock…referee Paul Turner calls for the bell against Shida’s wishes for the submission win via referee stoppage (01:58)…AFTER…Deeb chases the doctors out of the ring to deliver more punishment with the kendo stick.

*Jurassic Express & Christian Cage backstage with Tony…they’re willing to face any team in the top 5 rankings…John Silver & Alex Reynolds interrupt & challenge them to defend the titles on Rampage.

(4)  Penta defeats Matt Hardy…Penta hits the Fear Factor piledriver for the win (09:07)…AFTER…Alex helps Penta deliver a message to Malakai Black about respect…LIGHTS OUT, LIGHTS ON…Malakai Black kicks Alex in the face & starts in on Penta…the Varsity Blonds race down to save Penta…LIGHTS OUT, LOIGHTS ON…Brody King appears & helps Black take out the Blonds.

*Kris Statlander, Red Velvet, & Leyla Hirsch backstage with Tony…they have a trios match on Rampage…Hirsch is pissed that Tony & Kris would rather talk about her mixed tag match next week…Red Velvets tells her partners to get it together.

(5)  The Acclaimed defeat Bear Country…Caster takes shots at Darby & Sting during his pre-match rap…Caster hits the Mic Drop elbow on Bronson for the win (06:17)…AFTER…as the Acclaimed head back up the ramp, Sting makes his way out with his bat…Darby comes through the crowd with his skateboard…the Acclaimed are left laying.

*Pac promo…he was told he may never see again, but his vision has never been so clear.

*Matt Hardy (& Private Party) backstage with Tony…Andrade interrupts, wants to discuss a business agreement with Matt…the two leave to talk shop.

(6)  Sammy Guevara defeats Daniel Garcia…retains the Interim TNT Championship…Sammy sends a message to Cody when he hits Cross Rhodes, but only gets a 2 count…at ringside, 2point0 distract Sammy from a GTH but he clears them off the apron & delivers on his 2^nd attempt at the GTH for the win (12:32)…AFTER…as David Crockett hands Sammy his title, 2point0 attack…Chris Jericho & Floyd clear out 2point0 as Eddie Kingston hobbles around the ring, attempting to help…Eddie gets in Jericho’s face as the show ends.
