IMPACT WRESTLING SOUNDOFF – JANUARY 26, 2021
- Previously on Impact Wrestling familiar faces returned and new faces joined… the party. We see everything surronding Private Party becoming the number one contenders to the Impact Tag Team Championships.
Rich Swann
- Rich Swann is starting the show coming to the ring for time he has requested. Before he talks we are told he was seen leaving Scott’s office earlier today.
- Rich is saying he didn’t realize the target he’d have on his back as Champion but that is okay. He’s not hear to complain.
- Rich Swann is asking Tommy Dreamer to come out to the surprise of everyone including Dreamer.
- Swann says that No Surrender happens to be on Dreamer’s 50th birthday. Tommy was the guy who never surrendered and RIch wants to defend against him.
- Before Tommy can say anything Sami Callihan comes out saying this is Tommy politicing to get himself over. He said he lost but didn’t embarass the company.
- Before Swann can say anything, Chris Bey comes out now to claim he deserves a shot because No Surrender is also his Birthday.
- Now Moose, the one who legit has a gripe as he was promised a shot already, is finally coming out. He says everyone is too scared to challenge for his title.
- Moose says unlike Bey and Sami, Rich hasn’t beat Moose before and Swann is a man of his word and reminds of his promise for a title shot.
- Rich Swann gave him his opportunity but he turned it down last week. He says the match with Dreamer is already set.
- The brawl begins and Willie Mack comes out to clear house of the challengers minus Dreamer.
- Another hack and Ken Shamrock appears in the ring and attacks Mack, Swann and Dreamer allowing the heels to return to help in the beat down.
- Bey and Moose some legit stand offish towards Shamrock as he roidrages on the faces. Moose walks off first as all the heels stand tall to end the segment.
Backstage
- Backstage the faces are being interviewed backstage all beaten down about what just happen. Dreamer says we want a match. Swann says they demand one and head to Scott’s office.
- Scott says they need someone to even the odds and has someone in the office they are all excited to be their team mate.
MATT CARDONA & JOSH ALEXANDER VS. ACE AUSTIN & MADMAN FULTON
- Not usual for Impact to have the first match start 20 minutes into the show. The opening segment was so good though, not complaining.
- Back from commercial with Madman Fulton fighting off both Josh and Matt before tagging in Ace.
- Josh Alexander being worked over with Cardona playing up the desire for the hot tag very well.
- Always love when the big man team member drags their small partner to the corner for the tag like Fulton did with Austin.
- Cardona hits the former Rough Ryder finisher by going over Austin and hitting it on Fulton to get the pinfall victory.
- MATCH TIME: 11:21
Rohit
- Rohit Raju is asking someone to help him with his match to get the number 1 contendership. The person appears to have a red suit but we never see who it is. Could be Father James Mitchell?
AEW Paid Advertisement
- Another TK and Tony Paid Advertisement from AEW with the great over acting from TK. He is calling Impact is own little Fantasy League.
- TK is actually calling Jon Moxley the RIGHTFUL World Champion.
Brian Myers
- Brian Myers walking backstage when he walks into Cardona and Alexander. Myers tells Alexander he could have teamed with him but settled for his “Janetty” but gets called “Bad Mood” Brian by Matt as he walks off.
BRIAN MYERS VS. EDDIE EDWARDS
- Brian is coming straight to the ring for his match with Eddie Edwards.
- Eddie is all taped up on his left shoulder still selling the Barbed Wire Massacre match. Doesn’t take long for Brian to go after the obvious target.
- Backpack Stunner from Eddie Edwards but he isn’t able to get a good enough cover getting only a two count.
- Eddie Edwards gets DQ’d by sticking his thumb into the eye of Brian Myers without stopping even after a five count from Hebner.
- MATCH TIME: 6:11
Tasha and Kiera
- Back to Tasha and Kiera discussing about how lit their festival is going to be with only ugly people showing up.
- Swinger just walked by in a toga with three ladies that definitely were not cheap.
Matt Hardy
- Back with Matt Hardy and Private Party with Matt taking most of the credit for the win last week. No mention, obviously about them doing the heel turn on Dynamite but still promote the Tag Team Battle Royal. He says he is going to put a bonus on the Bucks.
TENILLE DASHWOOD W/ KALEB WITH A K VS. ROSEMARY W/ CRAZZY STEVE
- I am loving the return of Decay. It was so seemless with the depature of Taya while giving Steve something again. If only a certain WWE Agent was available.
- Tenille is able to use a camera bag on Rosemary behind the refs back but only gets a two count to the shock of Tenille.
- Kaleb with a K getting involved on the outside by piefacing Rosemary with the ref distracted on the otherside of the ring.
- Tenille avoids the flying drop kick by Rosemary and goes for her crossbody in the corner but only a two count again.
- Rosemary hits her finisher, As Above Below, and is able to get the pinfall victory.
- MATCH TIME: 4:54
- Post match, Decay celebrate the victory as Striker quotes Poetry apparently.
Acey Romero and Larry D
- Acey Romero welcomes back Larry D who is possed off over the spell that Rosemary placed on him. When they come through from the studio, Larry D decks Steve and they walk off as Rosemary stare them down.
Fire N Flava Again
- Fire N Flava are in Swinger’s office with ladies and blackjack. They are trying to get everyone to come to the party.
- Fallah Bahh is stuck there by himself as he can’t afford a ticket and Swinger doesn’t vouch for him.
Deonna Purrazzo
- Deonna is backstage gloating about her victory against Taya when Jazz and Jordynne walk up trying to mention names leading to Susan stepping against Grace next week.
Fire N Flava Festival
- In the ring with Alisha welcoming us to the Fire N Flava festival. This is still better than the actual Fire Festival.
- How is Bravo not having PTSD being back in the ring right now?
- The referee finally says what everyone is thinking and this sucks. The Food sucks, for sure.
- Alisha apparently is not liking the Bubbly and the piped in boos are starting now.
- Fallah Bahh is at ringside in a marshmallow man outfit but it’s actually Nevaeh.
- Kiera is pissed off at Nevaeh for taking out Tasha not seeing Havok get in the ring. Fire and Flava are off running.
Chris Sabin
- Backstage Chris Sabin is waiting at the bar for James Storm to come in. They’re talking about how they’re not done with Private Party or the Good Brothers.
The refund requests are starting with Kiera and Tasha saying NOPE.
JOE DOERING W/ ERIC YOUNG & DEANER VS. COUSIN JAKE
- All by himself for this match is Cousin Jake but he takes it right to Doering the minute he gets in the ring but it has no impact and Doering has complete control.
- Jake goes flying over the top on to Doering but lands on his ankle badly and now Doering has a target.
- Doering mercifully ends it and gets the pinfall victory.
- MATCH TIME: 3:13
- Post match, the beatdown by Violent by Design on Cousin Jake.
- Eric Young calls them off just before the pilmanization and leaves Cousin Jake a towel.
MOOSE, KEN SHAMROCK, CHRIS BEY & SAMI CALLIHAN VS. RICH SWANN, TOMMY DREAMER, WILLE MACK & TREY MIGUEL – 8 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
- Well looks like we know why MSK is only two members. Trey Miguel redebuts after likely resiging with Impact Wrestling.
- Chris Bey tags himself in with Moose staring down Rich Swann to the displeasure of Moose.
- Got to give Good Brothers credit for getting their figures advertised on the show.
- Back with Swann tagging in with Mack controlling Bey but like in any 8 man tag, the tag out quickly so we quickly have Sami and Swann.
- A great new intense side of Trey Miguel here with him getting the pinfall victory on Sami Callihan with a rollup.
- MATCH TIME: 10:47
- Post match, Sami and Ken Shamrock are arguing with Brandon Toll and Sami tells Ken to put the ankle lock on him. Other referee’s come out and Ken lets go of the hold to end the show.
