Royal Rumble Kickoff Show

• Charly Caruso with Jerry Lawler, Booker T, JBL, Pete Rosenberg
• Charlotte and Asuka v. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on the kickoff show

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defeat Asuka and Charlotte Flair – 10:30

• Prior to the match, Sarah Schreiber talks to Charlotte and Asuka. Charlotte says nobody will take on Charlotte straight on, os she expects Nia and Shayna to attempt a distraction. Asuka says that nobody is ready for Charlotte Flair and Asuka.
• Shayna and Nia got the heat on Asuka until Charlotte broke a pin. Charlotte comes in and runs wild on Baszler.
• Charlotte hit natural selection on both Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. Baszler kicked out.
• Nia and Shayna tossed Asuka over the announce desk, but Charlotte hit a moonsault from the top to the floor.
• Ric Flair’s music came out on the ramp, and Lacey Evans came out to ringside. Lacey used the Women’s right on Charlotte Flair with brass knuckles.
• Nia Jax dropped a legdrop for the pinfall victory.
• Nia and Shayna are new Tag Team Champions

Main Show

Drew McIntyre defeats Goldberg – WWE Championship – 02:32

• Goldberg and McIntyre got a hot start with McIntyre giving Goldberg a spear and a headbutt. Things spilled to the outside, and Goldberg speared McIntyre through the barricade.
• Back in the ring, the bell rang and Goldberg ran directly at McIntyre. Drew hit a Claymore.
• Goldberg ducked a second Claymore, and Goldberg hit two more spears. McIntyre kicked out.
• Goldberg hit a jackhammer, but McIntyre kicked out.
• Drew hit a Claymore for the pinfall victory.

Post Match

• Goldberg told McIntyre that he passed the test. They hugged, and Goldberg walked out.

Sasha Banks Promo

• The odds don’t matter because when you’re the best, you find a way to win.

Sasha Banks defeats Carmella – Smackdown Championship Match – 10:22

• At the 5 minute mark, Carmella started tying Banks’ hair to the ropes. It didn’t work well.
• Carmella tossed Sasha through the ropes, and Reginald caught Sasha. After Sasha hit Reginald with a few moves, the referee ejected Reginald.
• Carmella hit Sasha with a nasty suicide dive.
• Banks went for a frog splash, but Mella put the knees up.
• Sasha went for another top rope move, but Mella hit tow super-kicks for a near fall.
• Banks locked in the Bank Statement for the submission victory.

Backstage with the New Day

• Big E tells Woods that he just needs 60 minutes from Woods to change the course of wrestling history by appealing to the wrestling gods.
• Sami Zayn comes by and talks about the ongoing conspiracy. He assumes that WWE management will give them a great number.
• Kofi bounces into the screen because while he isn’t cleared to compete, Kofi still wants to be there.

• Bad Bunny does not want to collaborate with Miz and Morrison.
• Miz starts to run down Booker T, but Booker is standing right there. “Tell me you didn’t just say that.”

Peter Rosenberg hit R-Truth with the a Low Blow

• He’s the new 24/7 champion

Roman Reigns defeats Kevin Owens – Universal Championship Match – 24:52

• Reigns hit a superman punch and Kevin Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb in the first minute of the match.
• Owens and Reigns battled into the Thunderdome monitors again.
• Reigns tossed Owens off the 2nd level of monitors through a couple of tables, but Owens beat the 10 count.
• Kevin Owens stumbled to the backstage area where WWE had a secondary ring set up. Roman Reigns ran Owens over with a golf cart. Owens got back to his feet.
• Owens hit Roman with a pop up powerbomb on a table that didn’t break. Owens would then jump of the storage cases on top of Roman and through the table.
• Kevin set up a forklift and climbed to the top. He then hit a swanton bomb on Roman. Reigns answered the 10 count.
• As they went back to the ringside area, Roman speared Kevin through the LED boards.
• Owens cuffed Reigns to a piece of scaffolding so low that Roman couldn’t stand up. As the official got near the 10 count, Roman grabbed the official and rammed him into the scaffolding.
• Heyman brought Roman the keys to the handcuffs.
• Reigns cinched in the guillotine and choked Owens out. Kevin did not answer 10, so Roman wins.
