WWE RAW RECAP – July 5, 2021

*MizTV…first guest, John Morrison, who Miz declares will be the MitB winner…next guest, Drew McIntyre…another history lesson, this time he’s related to Davy Crockett, because MitB is in Texas…Ricochet interrupts, he doesn’t mind that Miz thinks he’s reckless, he’ll do whatever it takes to win MitB…Riddleinterrupts, climbs the ladder in the ring, he’s dedicating his MitB performance to his best friend, Randy Orton…AJ Styles interrupts…Omos tips over the ladder, re-injuring Riddle’s ankle…fisticuff break out…faces quickly control the ring.

(1)  John Morrison defeats Ricochet by COUNT OUT…Ricochet hits a twisting suicide cross-body on Morrison on the apron, sending both men crashing to the floor…Miz uses his wheelchair to delay Ricochet just enough to not make the 10 count (13:16).

*Jinder Mahal arrives on his custom motorcycle…he feels disrespected/blown off by his former friend Drew McIntyre, so he has demanded a match with Drew tonight.

*Nia/Shayna/Reggie backstage…Reggie sees Alexa & is spooked…when Nia/Shayna turn around, Alexa is gone.

(2)  Nia/Shayna/Eva/Doudrop defeats Nikki/Alexa/Naomi/Asuka…Nikki hits her headscissor/La Magistral Cradle combo on Shayna, but Nia had just made a blind tag in…Nia hits Samoan Drop on Nikki for the win (11:56)…AFTER…Eva Marie announces herself as the winner…again.

*Kevin Patrick in the Hurt Business Locker Room, asks why MVP turned the Woods vs. Lashley match into a tag match?…MVP explains that Woods doesn’t deserve to be in the ring 1-on-1 with Lashley…then MVP throws Kevin out.

(3)  Mustafa Ali defeats Mansoor…Ali gets his ankle tied up in the ropes…Mansoor helps free him…seconds later, Ali hits the Raw Roll Up for the win (02:52).

(4)  Drew McIntyre defeats Jinder Mahal by DQ…Drew avoids the Khallas & delivers a Future Shock DDT…as Drew prepares for the Claymore, Veer & Shanky attack, causing the DQ (10:15)…AFTER…3-on-1 beatdown ensues…Drew is driven shoulder-first into the ringpost…Jinder hits the Khallas & leaves with Drew’s “family heirloom” sword!

*New Day backstage with Kevin…Lashley’s been taking days off, New Day has been putting in the work.

(5)  Lucha House Party defeats Mace/T-Bar…Lince Dorado hits a hurricanrana on T-Bar, Dorado sits down & catches T-Bar’s legs for the roll up win (03:34).

*Riddle backstage stretching his injured ankle…Damien Priest joins him, tells him to be careful & not allow tonight to ruin his shot at MitB…Riddle not afraid of AJ.

(6)  Riddle defeats AJ Styles…Riddle can barely put weight on the injured ankle…Riddle manages to hit a Crane Kick as AJ laughs at the mere set up for it…later, as AJ is in complete control, the Viking Raiders pop up from behind the barricade & distract both Omos & AJ enough for Riddle to hit the Roll Up on AJ for the win (13:02).

*Charlotte to the ring for a medical update, she’s on one crutch (but still in stiletto heels)…Rhea interrupts, feigning her own injury & utilizing a single crutch as well…Rhea knocks Charlotte’s crutch away, exposing that she’s just fine…the two begin a crutch duel that is more painful to watch than being hit by a crutch would actually be…Rhea gets the upper hand for a moment & Charlotte bails.

(7)  Jaxson Ryker defeats Elias/Cedric Alexander…R-Truth (who was supposed to be Ryker’s partner) leaves to chase Tozawa along with the rest of the 24/7 division…Ryker tosses Cedric to the corner & demands Elias tag in…Elias wants nothing to do with the scenario, bails & heads up the ramp…Rykers hits the Bossman Slam on Cedric for the win (01:04).

(8)  New Day defeat Bobby Lashley/MVP…MVP sets Kofi up for the Playmaker…Kofi reverses out of it & hits Trouble in Paradise on MVP for the win (14:34).
