WWE SmackDown RECAP – June 25, 2021

*Roman/Heyman chatting in the Tribal Chief’s Locker Room…Jimmy strolls in…Jimmy has spoken to Jey but Jey’s not coming back any time soon…Jimmy says he can fill in as ‘the right hand man’…Roman, “prove it!”

*Bianca to the ring…she’s wonderful, Bayley’s a bully…Seth Rollins interrupts, says Bayley is about to whoop her…Bayley interrupts, she was just about to congratulate Bianca but now she’s offended…Cesaro joins the party, some fisticuffs are exchanged…the faces hold the ring as we go to commercial.

*Jimmy waiting outside the locker room to ask Heyman, “What is ‘prove it’ supposed to mean?”…Heyman tells him to go win a match for starters.

*Coronation of KING-suke Nakamura…intro by Rick Boogs…Nakamura decked out in all white leather…crown placed on Nakamura’s head by Boogs…Corbin seen backstage, completely melancholy.

*Rollins enters Pearce’s office, “if Roman’s ‘State of the Universal Championship’ address later should happen to be about his next opponent…you’re looking at him!  No one deserves that opportunity more than me!”

(2)  MitB Qualifier: Big E. defeats Apollo Crews…Azeez gets caught running Big E into the barricade & gets tossed from ringside…Big Ending for the win (12:56).

*Sami Zayn backstage with Kayla…after his win at Hell in a Cell, he finally sees positivity in the world…until he finds out he’ll be facing Kevin Owens in a MitB Qualifier next week…COMMERCIAL…Sami barges into Pearce’s office…not only does Sami think he doesn’t need to face Kevin again, he thinks Pearce should just give him the Money in the Bank contract…Pearce informs him that the match next week is not only happening, but it is LAST MAN STANDING match.

*Sonya in the ring…introduces the 1^st Women’s MitB participant: Carmella…Liv Morgan interrupts, she beat Carmella therefore deserves that spot more…Sonya tells Liv that Carmella is in, but Liv can earn a spot by beating Carmella right now.

*Roman to the ring with Heyman…Heyman, “there’s no one left to face Roman”…EDGE’s music hits…Edge & Roman battle inside the ring & out…Roman gets the upper hand, rolls out to grab a chair…Edge Spears Roman on his way back into the ring…Edge prepares for con-chair-to…Jimmy Uso makes the save…Edge Spears Jimmy through the barricade…Roman has retreated up the ramp…Edge holds the ring as the show ends!
