June 6th NWA When Our Shadows Fall

When Our Shadows Fall Results by Jeff Johnson Wrestling Soundoff

Check back for June 6th NWA When Our Shadows Fall Results.

Usual weird rock intro that Billy likes to put on PPVs. We do hear the crowd but sadly we also hear Velvet Sky.

MARSHE ROCKETT & SLICE BOOGIE VS. THE END (ODINSON & PARROW) VS. SAL RINAURO & RUDO W/ DANNY DEALS VS. LA REBELION (MECHA WOLF & BESTIA 666) – FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH

  • They are letting us know this match is being fought under NWA Lucha rules which means no tags are needed. I am not really a fan of this style of tag wrestling.
  • The End are standing on the floor and not looking to get brought in to the match.
  • What an assisted Pounce by Odinson on Marshe Rockett. Made me think about Monty Brown.
  • The End is no selling the shots from Slice Boogie. Makes The End look good but made Boogie look weak.
  • Doomsday Device from The End but the pinfall is broken up as still a lot of other teams on their feet.
  • Double Torcher Rack from The End on La Rebelion before dropping both on the top turnbuckles.
  • Sal wants to do the Mega Powers handshake with Rudo who is not into it and just grabs the hand and hits a move on everyone to the outside.
  • Sal goes to hit a move on everyone but when he turns around Parrow is in the ring. Danny Deals tells Sal to stop trying to hit a chokeslam leading to Parrow tossing Sal to the crowd of wrestlers on the outside.
  • Cutter on Parrow from Rockett but Bestia breaks up the pinfall victory.
  • La Rebelion hit their finisher on Rockett and get the victory.
  • Post-match, The End gets in the ring to stare down La Rebelion. Parrow tells them SOON to set up a possible feud between the teams.
  • Match Time: 08:41

THE POPE VS. TYRUS W/ AUSTIN IDOL – NO-TIME LIMIT, NON-TITLE GRUDGE MATCH

  • Pope is cutting a promo with Kyle Davis at the podium on his way to the ring for the match that is NOT for the title.
  • Idol and his client do the same thing saying that Idol’s client would be in the main event against Aldis if not for Pope.
  • Apparently, Idol’s client has a charity that he is fixing after bad management. It is a shot at Pope as it is actually Pope’s charity.
  • If Idol’s Client had a bodysuit the same colour as his gear right now, he’d be able to lay on the mat and not be seen.
  • Pope is selling his ribs/back after a crossbody from Idol’s Client leading to the offense is focused on that area.
  • Pope slips on the top but the announcers play it off like it is related to his ribs but he recovers and hits the elbow drop. Only a two count though.
  • Pope kicks out from a Tonga Death Grip which is put over as the first time someone has done that.
  • Banzai Drop but knees go up into a place you don’t want them.
  • Idol hands something to his Client after getting the ref distracted. One punch and he gets the pinfall over Pope.
  • Post-match, multiple referees come out to check on Pope in the ring.
  • Match Time – 10:30

THUNDER ROSA & MELINA VS. TARYN TERRELL & KYLIE RAE

  • Really happy to see Kylie Rae back and smiling. I don’t think there are much better today in-ring and character-wise when it comes to the women.
  • Rosa and Melina talk trash as Taryn has to take her time to get her entrance gear off. Taryn is looking like she did when she retired.
  • Taryn is sitting on the turnbuckle watching Kylie Rae work over Melina until Melina can get to the corner to tag in Rosa.Funny spot with Taryn telling Kylie she is there for all her emotional support when Kylie actually wanted a tag.
  • You have to love how great Heel Kylie can be with her working over the arm of Melina behind the referee’s back.
  • Weird spot with Melina tosses Taryn to Rosa on the edge of the ring leading to Rosa just carrying Taryn to the back.
  • Kylie counters Melina and rolls her up with help from the tights to get the pinfall victory for her team.
  • Match Time: 08:52

FRED ROSSER VS. JTG

  • Handshake between Rosser and JTG before the match but they hold for a second as neither wants to be first to let go.
  • The crowd in attendance seems to really be behind JTG in this one. Rosser hears it and starts to play up the heel role by telling JTG that this is his house.
  • JTG stalks Rosser and hits him with a strange-looking swinging sidewalk slam. Not getting all of it leads to
  • Rosser kicking out before the three.
  • Rosser counters the Razor’s Edge attempt and grabs JTG’s hair. They are struggling with each other until JTG gets the pinfall in a school boy.
  • Post-match, JTG offers the hand and helps up Fred Rosser.
  • Match Time: 09:29

THE WAR KINGS (JAX DANE & CRIMSON) VS. THOMAS LATIMER & CHRIS ADONIS VS. ARON STEVENS & KRATOS – NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH

  • NWA has made me go from thinking the champs have to lose in every match they are into wondering how they will somehow hold on to them.
  • We are fighting under true triple threat tag team rules with one member of each team in the ring. I have always wondered why some promotions will book it with just two men in the ring.
  • Kratos and Dane don’t waste time before having a show of strength against each other. Adonis tags in to take both down but Kratos and Dane no sell it.
  • Why did they have to hide the attack on the leg of Kratos against the steel steps? If it is triple threat rules, there should be no DQ.
  • Does anyone else think that the leg injury could have been a plan between Kratos and Strictly Business? Just seemed convenient that it was Latimer doing the damage.
  • Masterlock on Stevens has to be broken up by Crimson as Kratos is selling the leg in the corner.
  • Interesting booking to have Latimer and Dane stop fighting each other to prevent Stevens and Kratos from tagging before fighting each other over who gets to pin Stevens.
  • Nice spot with Latimer and Dane both trying to pin Stevens leading to it finally breaking down to them slugging each other. This gives Stevens enough time to make a recovery.
  • Kratos gets off the apron during a comeback from Stevens for no reason. Nevermind, he was going for a tag belt but the referee takes it.
  • Kratos low blows Crimson behind the ref’s back which allows Stevens to get the pinfall victory and retain once again.
  • Post-match, Stevens and Kratos shake hands but I assume Stevens will have something to say on Powerrr.
  • Match Time: 14:10

KAMILLE VS. SERENA DEEB – NWA WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

  • I really do like that they are playing up that Kamille is pissed off that Deeb defended the title on AEW when she’s been the contender since Back for the Attack.
  • Lock-up to start the match off with Kamille getting the better of it sending Serena face-first into the mat.
  • On the second lock-up, Kamille sends Deeb across the ring.
  • Not sure if the drop toe hold spot was a botch or it was planned that way but either way they made it look natural.
  • Nothing says classic NWA booking to me than the power wrestler using the bear hug on the technical wrestler who sells it like a million bucks.
  • Serena Deeb has her opening as she is able to get some shots on the right leg and knee of Kamille.
One issue I have is NWA fans chanting for Kamille over Serena simply in the “Us vs. Them” mentality thinking
  • AEW is bad and NWA is good. It is finite and relationships benefit EVERYONE.
  • Dropkick from Deeb to counter the Spear attempt. Kamille still is able to power away and go for the spear again only for it to be countered into the Single Leg Crab.
  • Kamille sees Deeb favour her previously injured knee and locks her in her own Single Leg Crab in the middle of the ring. Deeb is able to get to the ropes but the damage is done.
  • Spear is finally hit by Kamille and we have a new NWA Women’s World Champion in Kamille. They made me doubt Kamille would win a couple times.
  • Match Time: 14:17

NICK ALDIS VS. TREVOR MURDOCH – NWA WORLD’S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

  • Do we really need the referee putting over the history between these two during the introductions? Isn’t that what video packages are for?
  • Nick Aldis is not happy with the referee but the ref has none of it and pushes back. Aldis retreats to the outside out of frustration about not getting his way.
  • Nick Aldis falls back against the ropes when Murdoch goes for his flying Bulldog finisher causing Murdoch to get crotched on the top.
  • That spot with Murdoch falling back into the corner while in the sleeper definitely didn’t come off looking like it likely was meant to.
  • Latimer is coming out with a chair to distract the referee while Nick Aldis gets one to attack the ref with it before attacking Murdoch.
  • Aldis goes to the top as the fans chant You Suck at Aldis with Galli pissed on commentary. Flying Elbow to the back of Murdoch.
  • Murdoch moves out of the way during the second elbow drop before using the chair himself.
Cloverleaf is on but the ref calls for the bell to DQ Aldis so no title change. NWA really likes leaving a bad taste in the mouth of their fans.
  • Post-match, Trevor Murdoch is being interviewed at the podium by Kyle saying he did everything right and gets shafted.
  • Match Time: 12:50
