WWE NXT RECAP – June 8, 2021

*During Lorcan’s entrance we see footage of Theory, Gargano, Dunne, & Lorcan brawling earlier today & being pulled apart by CWC Security.

(1)  Oney Lorcan defeats Austin Theory…after ~5min Pete Dunne makes his way to ringside…Johnny Gargano follows shortly thereafter…Pete & Johnny eventually brawl & are forced up the ramp by refs…Lorcan catches Theory glancing up the ramp as he makes his way back into the ring & runs Theory into the ringpost…Theory flops back into the ring & right into Lorcan’s arms for a half-nelson slam for the win (12:38).

*LA Knight at his palatial home…showing Ted DiBiase why he’s the man to carry on the Milion Dollar Legacy.

*Handsome Dok Hendrix (Michael Hayes) runs down the TakeOver: In Your House card like it’s 1995 all over again!

*Legado del Fantasma in the ring…Escobar is interrupted almost immediately by Bronson Reed, who replays his avalanche of Escobar into the barricade from last week a dozen times…Escobar invites Reed to the ring…MSK join him to even things up…Legados want no part of this at the moment & slide out…Escobar proposes 3-on-3 match, winners take all titles…Reed/MSK accept! *Back from commercial, this 6-man tag is booked for In Your House!

(2)  Swerve defeats Killian Dain…Maverick gets into it with Ashantee & Top Dolla outside…Dain gets distracted, Swerve delivers a jumping head kick for the win (06:38).

*Candice/Indi backstage with McKenzie…Candice is annoyed at the attention being paid to Poppy’s visit…Indi is distracted thinking about Lumis & runs off to find him.

*Cameron Grimes also showing off his opulent home/lifestyle for DiBiase…lighting a cubano with a $100 bill, etc.

(3)  Mercedes Martinez defeats Camron BraNae…Xia Li attacks Mercedes during her entrance…Mercedes tosses Xia over the barricade & refs remove Xia…match begins…Air Raid Crash for the win (00:18).

*Breezango backstage with McKenzie…they need to beat Imperium on their road back to the tag title.

*Regal & HHH backstage with Poppy…they watch as she “drops” her new album in real time from her phone…Dexter Lumis presents Poppy with a sketch…Poppy is so pleased, she gives him a hug just in time for Indi to witness & run off screaming, “how could you?!”

*DiBiase in the ring for his “Priceless Announcement”…LA Knight & Grimes join him…DiBiase unveils a golden ladder for their match this weekend…at the top of that ladder will be THE MILLION DOLLAR CHAMPION$HIP!

*Regal backstage as security separates Karrion Kross & Kyle O’Reilly.

*EverRise will be hosting the In Your House Pre-Preshow!  Yup, you read that right.

(4)  Grizzled Young Veterans defeat August Grey/Ikeman Jiro…Ciampa & Thatcher take a seat on chairs at the bottom of the ramp…Ticket to Mayhem on Grey, Gibson covers for the win (05:06)…AFTER…Gibson grabs a mic to remind Ciampa/Thatcher that they’re done with them…Ciampa informs GYV that they’re never getting a shot at MSK without going through him & Toothless Timmy…Gibson proposes a tornado-style (no tags) “scrap” next week…Ciampa/Thatcher don’t want to wait, they slide in, GYV slide out.

*Bobby Fish working the heavy bag, “Oney, don’t you think for one second I’ve forgotten about you.”

*Candice LeRae to the ring…mad at Poppy for “stealing Indi’s man” & sending her running from the building in tears…Candice demands Poppy face her…Poppy out to the top of the ramp, “I don’t wrestle, but I know someone who does.”…Io Shirai slides in, delivers 619/springboard missile dropkick & send Candice into retreat.

*Dok Hendrix with another Slam Jam Update…6-man tag between Bronson/MSK & Legados is official…so is the Million Dollar Ladder Match

(5)  Ember Moon defeats Dakota Kai by DQ…Ember attacks Raquel outside…Ember yanks Dakota outside & hits suicide dive on both…back inside, Ember climbs for the Eclipse…Raquel delivers running headkick to cause the DQ & send Ember to the floor (12:33)…AFTER…Ember attacks Raquel & Dakota…Raquel get her up for the one-arm powerbomb but Ember reverses it into a modified Eclipse…Ember follows with a full-on top buckle Eclipse on the champ…Ember lays the title across Raquel’s prone body.

*Ciampa/Thatcher vs. GYV tornado tag match is booked for next week

*Regal in the ring with Kross & Scarlett…after the brawl with O’Reilly earlier, Regal decides “this is not happening”…but Kross strongly disagrees, Regal has lost control of NXT…Kyle O’Reilly out, has some unpleasant words for the champ…Johnny Gargano is up next, he’s no kinder to the champ…Pete Dunne joins the party, he’s sick of waiting…Adam Cole rounds out the proceedings via the ’tron…he’s too smart to be in the building but does have a few seconds to take verbal shots at everyone before saying goodbye…O’Reiily into the ring, slaps Kross, melee ensues…Dunne joins…Johnny joins…everyone gets some shots in before Kross ends things by smashing O’Reilly with the forearm to the skull & holding the belt high, “ONE VERSUS EVERYONE!”…but Adam Cole was in the building & delivers a pair of superkicks & the Last Shot to take out Kross & hold the NXT Title high as the show ends!
