Minutes to Bell Time

64. What Match Outcome Broke My Heart in 1992?

As fans, there are probably only a handful or two moments from wrestling’s past that are carved into your memory banks.

Yes. . none of us will ever forget what it looked like when Hogan slammed Andre. . .it’s on the intro to every episode of WWE television . . . so it’s almost impossible to forget that moment.

But even without those constant reminders, some moments remain front of mind for decades.

One of those moments for me was the Saturday Night’s Main Event that aired on November 14, 1992.

I know what you’re thinking. . .Ryan. . .the Daily Wrestling News Show usually tells a historical story about something that happened on this day . . .and it’s only October 27th. . .why are we talking about a show that took place on November 14th.

To that I remind you that we’re talking about wrestling . . . it isn’t live sports. No no . . . the 31st edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event was taped . . . you guessed it  . . . on October 27th 1992.

So what is it that I remember so vividly from this event in 1992.

I remember the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith going for a superplex, but his back gave out and Shawn Michaels fell on top of him for the pinfall.
