Live Coverage Beginning at 8:00 PM

Show opens announcing the advertised matches. In addition, they announced that Drew McIntyre will join MVP in the VIP Lounge. The camera then went to the ring where Seth Rollins, AOP, and Murphy stood.

Seth Rollins Segment

Seth welcomed everyone to Monday Night Raw. He says he’s here to lead us all into the future. Seth showed us a recap of last week’s elimination match. Kevin Owens came out, and Seth warned him that he could get hurt just like Samoa Joe and Ivar. Kevin says that he sounds stupid as hell and now he looks stupid too (wearing a leather jacket with fur on the collar and no shirt).

Owens and the Viking Raiders mixed it up with AOP and Murphy while Samoa Joe put Rollins in the Coquina clutch. When it split up, Owens and group celebrated as Rollins and company retreated.

Becky Lynch’s Music hit to send us to commercial. The Raw Championship Match is . . . Next.

Becky Lynch defeated Asuka

After commercial, Asuka and Kairi Sane came out. Asuka cut a whole promo in Japanese. She didn’t speak any English, but it still might be the best promo of the night.

Asuka locked in an arm ringer and then a side headlock during the opening moments of the match. Becky pushed her off and then Asuka took her down with a shoulder tackle. On the next exchange, Becky got an arm ringer of her own, but Asuka took her back to the side headlock. Becky countered that and put Asuka in a side headlock on the mat. Kairi Sane jumped up on the apron to provide a distraction. Just prior to the commercial break, Asuka hit Becky with a hip attack sending her to the outside.

Back from commercial, Asuka still had the advantage, but Becky fought back with a number of strikes and a flying forearm. Asuka caught a knee to Becky’s face. Becky sent Asuka to the outside with a dropkick. Lynch came off the apron with a double axe handle, but Kairi Sane pushed Asuka out of the way and took the blow herself. Back in the ring, Asuka countered Becky’s top rope move again and moments later Asuka sent Becky into the post. Becky evaded another hip attack from Asuka and then put her in the dis-arm-her. This time, Becky dropped Asuka on the apron before sending Raw to commercial.

Asuka welcomed us back from the commercial break with a superplex to Lynch, a running kick to the face, and then she locked her into an arm-bar. Becky countered the arm-bar with a one-arm deadlift powerbomb. Lynch next went for a second rope legdrop, but Asuka positioned herself and put Becky right into the Asuka-lock. Things got really fast after this as both women went for pinfall attempts. Becky won with the ura-nage. While it is only Monday, that might be the Women’s Match of the week.

After the match, Shayna Baszler attacked Becky. Baszler bit Becky on the back of the neck and had a mouth full of blood. Weird post-match to a really great contest.

Additional Announcements for Tonight (During the Asuka/Becky Match)

  • No mention from the commentary team, but a graphic came up during the Lynch/Asuka match showing that Rhea would be on the show tonight.
  • Ricochet vs. Bobby Lashley also announced.

Medical Staff Show Wanting to take Becky Lynch to Hospital

Becky did not want to go. This brings us back to last year’s WrestleMania angle where Becky was hurt with her WrestleMania match in jeopardy.

The Street Profits defeated Mojo Rawley and Riddick Moss

The 24/7 Rules are suspended for the duration of the match. The Street Profits cut a promo on Mojo, but mostly said they are ready for WrestleMania season.

Mojo tackled Dawkins at the bell and the tagged in Moss. Dawkins took Moss down, hit a sky high and Ford hit a frog splash for the win.

Moss Pinned Rawley for the 24/7 Title

Becky Lynch Segment with Medical Staff

She agreed to goto the hospital by throwing all the medical staff out of the way and stealing the ambulance.

Drew McIntyre in the VIP Lounge

MVP put down the crowd and welcomed Drew out to the VIP lounge. Once MVP finished running through all of his accomplishments, Drew said he has to point at the sign every time someone says WrestleMania. MVP says some people are saying that Drew is not ready to be WWE Champion yet. MVP says we’re going to change all that. Drew asks “Did WE win the Royal Rumble.” MVP offers to take the distractions off his plate.

Drew says, “Maybe you could be my Paul Heyman.” Drew says he doesn’t need someone talking for him or someone kissing his ass. MVP says he isn’t an ass kisser. MVP grabbed McIntyre’s arm, so Drew hit him with the Glasgow kiss and a Claymore before walking out.

Recap of Randy Orton’s Beatdown on Edge

Angel Garza defeated Cedric Alexander

Zelina Vega showed the Humberto beatdown from last week. She said Garza is a Man’s man, and Garza said he is also a Lady’s Man. Humberto Carrillo came down to attack Angel Garza, but security escorted Carrillo out of the ringside area.

Alexander tried to attack Garza before the bell, but Garza caught him coming in. When Alexander went for a top rope dive, Garza hit a dropkick, pulled his pants off, and hit the wing clipper for the victory.

Recap of Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair Angle from Last Week

Charly Caruso interviewed Ripley. Ripley said that she wasn’t waiting for Charlotte because she was there to take what she wanted. Sarah Logan interrupted asking who Ripley things she is showing up on Raw. Rhea says, “I’m Rhea Ripley. Who are you?” and then she walked away.

Bobby Lashley Interview

Lana says that Ricochet stole what Bobby deserves. Bobby says that “Ricochet won’t make it to Super Showdown” and Brock Lesnar can thank him.

Rhea Ripley defeated Sarah Logan

Before the match started, Charlotte Flair came out to the ramp.

At the bell, Sarah charged Ripley. Ripley kicked Sarah in the head and then hit a dropkick followed by the Riptide for the pinfall victory

Ripley requested an answer from Charlotte, but the Queen wanted to know how we’ll even know Ripley will still be champion after her match with Bianca on Sunday.

Ricochet defeated Bobby Lashley

Prior to the match, WWE played the footage from last week’s triple threat to put Ricochet in the main event of Super Showdown. Ricochet responded before the match saying he wouldn’t back down and he would limp into Super Showdown if that’s all he can do.

Ricochet charged Lashley at the bell, but Bobby took the early advantage. After a few moments, Ricochet caught Lashley running into the corner. Prior to the commercial break, Ricochet hit a suicide dive and a top con hilo.

Back from the break, Lashley had the advantage sending Ricochet to the outside. Ricochet hit a moonsault off the steps. When Ricochet stood on the apron, Bobby grabbed him and tossed him into the post.

Ricochet hit a springboard cross body followed by a running shooting star press. When Ricochet tried to lift Lashley into the air, Bobby evaded and took back over hitting a vicious spine buster that couldn’t put Ricochet away. As Lashley went for a top rope suplex, Ricochet flipped out and knocked Lashley out in the corner. He then hit the 630 for the pinfall victory.

Recap of the Becky Lynch Segments Earlier in the Show

Randy Orton Interview

Before Randy Orton could really say anything, Matt Hardy came out. Matt reminded Randy that he used to be best friends with Edge saying that at No Mercy 1999 they revolutionized the Ladder Match. They invented the TLC match, and they stole the show at WrestleMania. Matt Hardy says Edge’s return was miraculous, and he wants to know what’s wrong with Randy.

Hardy evaded the first RKO, but not the second one. Randy set up hit Matt with the same double chair shot that he hit Edge with 2 weeks ago.

Ruby Riot Interview

Why such animosity to Liv Morgan? Ruby says Liv is a follower and Ruby came back to put Liv in her place. She says, “Liv strikes when I say so.”

Aleister Black defeated Akira Tozawa

Black hit a back elbow, a pop-up knee strike, and the Black Mass for the pinfall victory. Tozawa did get one dropkick during this match.

After the match, Black said he is appreciative of every person in the building. Black says he is starting to feel like an animal inside a cage. He will not be in the ring with his opponents. They will be trapped in the metaphorical cage with him.

Becky Returns in the Ambulance and Comes to the Ring

She went to the hospital, they patched her up, and gave her something for the pain. To Baszler, Becky says “You better find me before I find you.”

Seth Rollins, Murphy and AOP defeated Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Viking Raiders

Seth Rollins had something to say, but he got jumped ahead of time.

The match started during the commercial break. Owens hit a springboard elbow drop on Murphy and Erik slammed Ivar onto Murphy for a two count.

The AOP got the advantage on Erik and tagged out to Seth Rollins. Erik evaded Murphy’s offense and rolled to Ivar for a tag. Ivar hit a cross body on Murphy. When Murphy went for a clothesline, Ivar cartwheeled through and hit a clothesline of his own to send Raw to commercial.

Back from the break, AOP had an advantage on Kevin Owens. Each member of the team took turns beating down on Kevin Owens until he spiked Murphy on his head with a DDT and tagged Samoa Joe. After a boot to the chest of Rollins, Joe hit a senton and then the Viking Raiders and Joe hit a triple suicide dive on AOP and Seth Rollins.

Back in the ring, Joe hit a ura nage on Rollins. Everyone got back in the ring and took each other out. Kevin Owens did a cannonball from the post to the AOP. Samoa Joe locked in the coquina clutch on Murphy, but Rollins snuck in to hit Joe with a curb stomp. Murphy rolled over Joe for the pinfall.

Summary

This was one of the better Raws in the last year. Having a story (Becky Lynch) carry through the entire show kept things entertaining.

  • Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler angle is very strong.
  • Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair angle is also very strong.
