Rebooking Goldberg’s 2003-2004 WWE Run
“Rebooking Goldberg’s 2003- 2004 WWE Run” comes from Contributor “Alcoholic” Adam Pokrajac. Pokrajac routinely provides the cold hard truth on Australian Wrestling with a heavy focus on New South Wales. He believes this is the most under appreciated wrestling scene in the world today and he reviews it with a beer in his hand.
With Goldberg returning on Monday Night Raw, Alcoholic Adam started thinking about what he would with Goldberg in 2003-2004. Get ready to read what’s next!
Ground Rules
- Goldberg is a part-timer, so we’re going we’re going to treat him like a special attraction to prevent overexposure.
- Bill Goldberg doesn’t do the typical WWE babyface style match where he’ll take a beating, make a comeback, and win. Goldberg has short and intense matches, so we have him portrayed like that.
Backlash: Goldberg v The Rock
For his first match, we keep things exactly the same. We start with a dream match against The Rock to give Goldberg instant credibility. It allows us to introduce him to the people that never watched WCW.
Goldberg wins in five minutes.
Bad Blood: Chris Jeircho v Goldberg
- Jericho does his WCW schtick when he makes the challenge, but Goldberg doesn’t answer.
- Jericho has a match with a local where if Jericho loses, then Eric Bischoff will have to do the redneck triathlon.
- Stone Cold interferes costing Jericho the match, and Bischoff has to do the triathlon.
- Eric Bischoff tells Jericho that it’s finally time for Jericho to have a match with Goldberg at Bad Blood. It’s just Eric’s way of punishing Jericho for losing the match with a local.
- Goldberg goes on to defeats Jericho comfortably.
SummerSlam: Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: RVD v Goldberg v Randy Orton v Kevin Nash v Triple H (C) v Shawn Michaels
- The Final 4 comes down to Goldberg, HHH, HBK and Randy Orton.
- Kane runs in and chokeslams everyone out of frustration because Evolution forced Kane to remove his mask.
- Final 2: HBK v Goldberg.
- Goldberg wins. Instead of losing to a single sledgehammer shot, Goldberg goes on to eliminate everyone in the chamber.
Unforgiven: Shawn Michales v Goldberg (C) – World Heavyweight Championship
- This match is built on respect.
- Goldberg claims Shawn pushed him to his limits at SummerSlam, so Goldberg chooses Shawn to be the no.1 contender. Some people would call this is a dream match anyway.
- The match goes ahead and Again Goldberg wins.
Eric Bischoff begs Stephanie McMahon to use The Undertaker for Survivor Series in order to prevent Kane from destroying the entire Raw roster. Stephanie agrees only if she can use anyone she wants from Raw.
Bischoff agrees, so Stephanie selects Goldberg.
Survivor Series: Goldberg v Brock Lesnar Survivor Series
- This was the dream match we wanted at Wrestlemania 20 before we found out both men would be leaving the company.
- In this scenario, both men are treated as champions on top.
- Goldberg wins in a match likened to there match at Wrestlemania 33. An absolute car cash using big move offense.
Armageddon: Goldberg (C) v Kane – World Heavyweight Championship
- On the Raw after Survivor Series, Kane demands a chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane wants to prove he was always capable of more destruction than the Undertaker.
- Bischoff gives Kane the match out of fear of what would happen if Bischoff denied the match.
- Kane wins clean giving Goldberg his first loss in WWE.
Royal Rumble
- Goldberg enters the rumble, but Brock intervenes. Kurt Angle outwrestles and eliminates Goldberg.
- Bill gets pissed off beyond belief, and he goes back to the ring and spears and Jackhammers Kurt Angle. This prevents Kurt Angle from winning the rumble.
Kurt Angle v Goldberg Wrestlemania 20
- The Wrestling machine vs intensity. If anyone could get a good match (longer than five minutes) from Goldberg, it’s Kurt Angle
- Kurt Angle wins clean with an Ankle lock.
That’s how Alcohlic Adam would use Goldberg in his first run with WWE. Until next time I’ll see you at the local many bevs.
