September 3rd Smackdown

(1)  Street Profits defeat Usos by DQ…Ford hits the big splash on Jimmy, Jey breaks it up just in time but won’t stop beating on Ford & leave the ring, forcing the ref to call for the DQ (07:56)…AFTER…Usos doubleteam Dawkins on the floor until Ford hits a suicide dive & takes both Usos out…Roman watching from the locker room…asks Heyman to bring him the cousins.

*Paul Heyman is startled by Kayla just outside Roman’s locker room…while they’re speaking Heyman’s phone ring with Brock’s music…Paul ignores the call twice before picking up & having an uncomfortable 1-sided conversation…Kayla is thoroughly enjoying watching Heyman squirm…Heyman tells a nearby janitor to take out the garbage & “start with her” (referring to Kalya)…unfortunately the janitor is Big E. in disguise, startling Heyman once again as Big E. laughs maniacally…rough start to the night for Paul E.

*Becky Lynch to the ring…Bianca shouldn’t complain, it’s not Becky’s fault that Bianca wasn’t ready for her at SummerSlam…Bianca interrupts…she never makes excuses…since Roman is defending his title tonight, maybe Becky should, too…Becky, “I don’t give a damn what Roman does…NO!”

*Dolph Ziggler approaches Toni Störm backstage…they bond momentarily over their love for Mötley Crüe…Ziggler invites her to watch his match…Toni says she will, but she’s rooting for Boogs.

(2)  Rick Boogs defeats Dolph Ziggler…Boogs hits Pump Handle Powerslam (which Corey Graves attempts to nickname the “Boogs Cruise”) for the win (01:31).

*Sonya/Pearce cross paths with Becky backstage…Bianca will get her rematch at Extreme Rules & the contract signing will take place at Madison Square Garden next week.

(3)  Cesaro defeats Seth Rollins by DQ…after claiming last week that maybe he needed to be “more like Edge,” Rollins uses the Edge-ecuution, Edge-omatic…after Cesaro uses The Swing, Rollins rolls out to recover…Cesaro rolls out on the opposite side of the ring & charges the length of the ring at Rollins, but Seth puts a chair in Cesaro’s path at the last second, causing the DQ (09:36)…AFTER…Rollins breaks a support rod off the chair (just like Edge) & puts it in Cesaro’s mouth to complete a crossface submission…Rollins hits the Stomp…then rolls out to get another chair to set up a con-CHAIR-to…this finally brings Edge out…Rollins bails.

*Paul Heyman tells Roman Reign that “we have a problem” with Brock Lesnar…he will be in Madison Square Garden for next week’s SmackDown…Roman asks how Paul knows, Paul admits that Brock called him…Roman asks how Paul knows he’s not in the building tonight?!

*Happy Corbin pulls into the parking area in a Rolls Royce, still with the silly hat, still with the ear-to-ear grin!

*Edge backstage with Kayla…he understands why Seth is doing this, he would do the same thing…but it has to stop, so he challenges Seth for a rematch next week at MSG.

*KO Show…Kevin introduces his guest, Happy Corbin…Corbin introduces HIS guest, Logan Paul…Kevin & Logan take turns insulting each other…Logan shoves Kevin…before Kevin can retaliate, Corbin hits a uranage on KO…Corbin & Logan leave together.

(4)  Sami Zayn defeats Dom Mysterio…Helluva Kick for the win (02:03).

*Naomi finds Sonya backstage, still looking for her first SmackDown match…Sonya is very busy on the phone hyping the huge MSG show next week & can barely pay attention to Naomi…once again tells her to “ask me next week.”

(5)  Roman Reigns defeats Finn Balor…to retain the Universal Championship…the Usos attack Finn before the bell & work him over with the ring steps to the ribs until the Street Profits run the Usos off…Finn hits the Coup de Grâce & covers…Roman gets his shoulder up at 2 & in doing so delivers a low blow…Roman drops some fists on Balor & then locks in the Guillotine which causes Balor to pass out for the submission win (11:41).
