Survivor Series Matches – Ranked

“Survivor Series Matches – Ranked” comes from Contributor “Alcoholic” Adam Pokrajac. Pokrajac routinely provides the cold hard truth on Australian Wrestling with a heavy focus on New South Wales. He believes this is the most under appreciated wrestling scene in the world today and he reviews it with a beer in his hand.

You Just Made the List

In honor of the Thanksgiving day tradition, Alcoholic Adam has watched all the Survivor  Series matches and narrowed things down to his top 32 matches in Survivor Series history. Adam just asks that you don’t bury him in the comments.

The List

Number 32 – 2016 – 10 v 10

Most of this match is just a cluster f*** but the final two teams put this match on the list.

Number 31 – 2012 – Big Show v. Sheamus

Number 30 – Mr Kennedy v. The Undertaker

Number 29 – 2005 – Kurt Angle v. John Cena

Number 28 – 2009 – Chris Jericho v. Big Show v. Undertaker

Number 27 – 2017 – Usos v. The Bar

Number 26 – 2019 – Roderick Strong v. AJ Styles v. Shinsuke Nakamura

For someone that follows the Indies, this a wet dream.

Number 25 – 2001 – Dudley Boys v. Hardy Boys

Number 24 – 2012 – Ryback v. John Cena v. CM Punk

Number 23 – 2019 – Adam Cole v. Pete Dunne

Number 22 – 2009 – Rey Mysterio v. Batista

Number 21 – 2017 – The Shield v. New Day

Number 20 – 2002 – Trish Stratus v. Victoria

Number 19 – 2007 – Shawn Michael v. Randy Orton

Number 18 – 2013 – Shield & Real Americans v. Usos, Rey Mysterio, & Rhodes Dynasty

Number 17 – 2019 – Rey Mysterio v. Brock Lesnar

Number 16 – 2009 Triple H v John Cena v. Shawn Miachels

Number 15 – 1994 – Bob Backland v. Bret Hart

Storytelling personified.  Both men were left in the hands of others. Eventually someone throws in the towel.

The way Owen double crossed his family costing Bret the title was magnifercent .

Number 14 – 2007 – The Undertaker v. Batista

Number 13 – 1995 – Diesel v Bret Hart

A big man versus technician match with Bret Outsmarting Diesel.

Number 12 – 1990 – The Million dollar Team v. The Dream Team

The perfect debut at the perfect time – Undertakers debut – the rest is history

Number 11 – 1996 Bret Hart v. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Number 10 – 2005 Ric Flair v. Triple H

This match had an old school feeling. A long match with blood.  Who is the dirtiest player in the game?

Number 9 – 2014 – Team Cena v. Team Authority

Going into this match, we expected a shit show. What we got was Ziggler stealing the show.

Number 8 – 2005 – Smackdown v. Raw

Back when when brand supremacy meant something.

Number 7 – 2002 -Elimination Chamber

Long term story telling at it’s finest with Triple H facing every opponent earlier that year. He paid for his sins through various cheap ways of retaining his Championship.

Plus the Commentary was top notch. The match ends with one of the biggest feel good moments with HBK winning.

Number 6 – 1992 – Shawn Michael v. Bret Hart

One of the most under appreciated matches in history. HBK feels entitled to a WWE Championship match with Bret Hart because Shawn defeated the British Bulldog.

We all know the quality of a Bret versus Shawn match.

Number 5 – 2016 – Smackdown v. Raw

This match might as well be called best of 2016. Everyone had decent 2016, and this match linked everything together.

Braun’s dominance, Ambrose & AJ feud, and Shield nostalgia. It was an absolute banger.

Number 4 – 2017 – AJ Styles v. Brock Lesnar

A dream match that delivered on all fronts and then some. Brock was booked as an unbeatable monster and nobody could come close to defeating him. Styles and Brock made us believe that AJ had a chance. . . especially with the calf crusher toward the end.

Number 3 – 2000 – WWF v. The Alliance

Star power to the max with everyone playing a part in the match perfectly. The main reason this isn’t number 1 is because there was never any doubt in the outcome.

Number 2 – 2003 – Team Austin v. Team Bischoff

Balls to the wall from the start.

Number 1 – 2018 – Daniel Bryan v. Brock Lesnar

That’s the top of list. It’s one of the few times real emotion was felt in the venue and at home. Everyone stood in silence due to Bryan’s neck and concussion issues. But yet again, Daniel Bryan made us think there was a chance he could beat Brock.
