Pre-Show Match: Kay Lee Ray defeated Mia Yim
Mia Yim dropkicked Kay before the bell and followed up a few moments later with a head-scissors takedown. Ray connected with a tornado DDT for a two count and twisted Yim’s face while holding her in an abdominal stretch on that mat. Mia Yim evaded a top rope senton and came back with a neck breaker and a tornado DDT. With Ray rolling to the outside, Yim connected with a suicide dive but got hit with a superkick as she tried to reenter the ring. To keep Yim down, Ray jumped hit a somersault senton from the top rope to the floor. Yim would counter a hurricanrana with a sit-down powerbomb and followed up with a destroyer. The finish came when Yim went for an O’Connor Roll, but Ray countered into an O’Connor Roll of her own with assistance from the ropes. An average match.

Finn Balor defeated Ilja Dragunov
Balor and Dragunov exchanged holds for the first minute and a half until Dragunov hit a high cross body. With Dragunov on the outside, Balor ran the ropes and hit Ilja with a dropkick through the ropes. Moments later Ilja went for a double axe handle from the top turnbuckle to the floor, but Balor moved out of the way and Dragunov crashed and burned before being tossed back in by Finn. A low dropkick to the back of the neck earned Balor a two count before moving on to a side headlock. With Dragunov on the mat, Balor stomped and stomped until the official made him stop and Finn went back to the side headlock. The momentum switched as Ilja reversed a suplex to hit one of his own and followed up with a strong clothesline and a knee from the second rope. Balor slipped out of a fireman’s carry, grabbed Dragunov’s legs out from under him, and connected with a double stomp.
At this point in the match, both men started exchanging elbows before Balor hit a stationary sling blade and then a running sling blade. A few moments later, Dragunov hit a cross body from the post to the floor and then a coast to coast on the inside. Balor countered another top rope maneuver by Ilja, hit the shot gun dropkick, coup de gras, and the 1916 DDT for the pinfall victory. A very stiff, aggressive, and overall good match to kickoff the show.
Kathy Kelly Breaking News
Kelly announced that the winner of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will get an opportunity at the NXT Tag Team Championship at Takeover Portland. Grizzled Young Veterans ran down Riddle and Pete Dunne. Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne made fun of GYV. Fun times.
Cruiserweight Championship Match: Devlin pinned Scott to become the NXT Cruiserweight Champion
Jordan Devlin, Swerve Scott, Travis Banks, and Angel Garza compete in a Fatal Four Way Match.
As Garza tried to take his pants off, all three men attacked him. Garza hit a tope con hilo on Swerve and Banks hit a double stomp on Garza. Banks then dished out chops to everyone before sliding Scott back in the ring, hitting Garza and Scott with kicks, Devlin with a tope suicida, and a corner cannonball on Garza and Scott. Devlin hit Garza with a Spanish fly and Banks came off the top rope with a double stomp on Devlin for a near fall.
Garza finally got his pants off and Nigel celebrated like it was Christmas. Devlin went for Devlin Side on Banks, but Banks countered to land a destroyer. Banks got a near fall when he hit slice of heaven and the Kiwi Crusher on Jordan Devlin. Garza hit the wing clipper on Swerve Scott, but Devlin broke up the pinfall attempt and hit Scott with Devlin Side for the pinfall victory. Jordan Devlin won the Cruiserweight Championship in an above average match.
After the match, Devlin let everyone know that you never bet against an Ace.
The camera showed Chelsea Green, Robert Stone, Mia Yim, and Keith Lee in the crowd.
#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) defeated Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven)
Gargano and Bate start things out with a collar and elbow tie up and Gargano wrestles Bate to the mat. The straight back and forth wrestling continued for the first five minutes when Trent Seven and Tommaso Ciampa tagged into the match. Ciampa got a shoulder tackle and Seven tagged Bate back into the match. Bate and Ciampa then engaged in a test of strength with no clear winner. The match really got going when Ciampa got a strong punch in the face. Despite a little action on the outside that lead to both Bate and Seven getting thrown over the announce table, the match slowed back down when action made it back into the ring.
With Trent Seven back in the match, he went chop happy and hit a strong lariat on Ciampa for a two count. Trent went for the Seven Star Lariat, but Ciampa countered with a high knee. Both men tag out and Gargano gets the advantage with a Tope Suicida on Bate. Ciampa would go for project Ciampa, but Bate would counter and hit the Tyler Driver ’97 for the two count.
Bate hit an Exploder Suplex, but Gargano put his knees up for the standing shooting star. Gargano then countered the airplane spin into the Gargano Escape. A few moments later, Seven and Bate had Bothe members of #DIY in the airplane spin. Moustache Mountain hit a burning hammer assisted by a high knee for the two count on Ciampa.
All four men made it back to their feet to meet in the center of the ring, but #DIY ended up hitting meet in the middle on Trent Seven for the pinfall victory. Not the best match for any of the four competitors, but better than average in the industry and very fun in spots.
Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox Pull a Part
Mercedes Martinez was shown in the crowd. The camera went to Dakota Kai in time for Tegan Nox to viciously attack her into.
Prior to Toni Storm’s entrance, the camera went to a crowd shot of Bianca Belair. Belair faces the winner of the next match at Takeover Portland.
NXT Women’s Championship Match: Rhea Ripley (Champion) defeated Toni Storm
Storm got the first high impact move with a basement dropkick about one minute into the feeling out process. Storm hit Ripley with a German suplex into the bottom turnbuckle and Ripley rolled to the outside. Back in the ring, Storm connected with a snap suplex and followed up with an STF for an attempted submission. The referee called for the break and Storm immediately hit Ripley with a high angle DDT for a near fall.
Back on her feet, Ripley and Storm exchanged right hands until Ripley hit two clotheslines, a series of knees, and basement dropkick. Ripley applied the standing cloverleaf, but Storm escaped. Ripley and Storm would attempt a series of moves, but all moves were countered until Storm hit a German Suplex pin for a two count. Storm climbed the ropes, missed a frog splash, and Rhea finished her with Riptide for the pinfall victory.
Breaking News
A replay of Finn Balor attacking Gargano in the back. Tyler Bate broke it up.
The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish) vs. Imperium (Walter, Alexander Wolfe, Fabian Aichner, and Marcel Barthel)
Within three minutes, the referee temporarily stopped the match because Alexander Wolfe got an injury of some kind. This gave Undisputed Era the numbers advantage, which gave Undisputed the advantage for the next several minutes. The momentum of the match changed once Walter tagged into the match highlighted by a Walter hitting a German Suplex on both Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly at the same time.
The Undisputed Era would swarm Walter about 20 minutes into the match attempting to put him through a table, which Roderick Strong succeeded in doing with an Olympic Slam. Back in the ring, Aichner hit a brain buster on O’Reilly and Adam Cole hit both Aichner and Barthel with superkicks.
Imperium managed to stay in the match long enough for Walter to get back up. Ultimately Walter Powerbombed Bobby Fish to pick up the victory, but a lot of stuff happened too numerous to write about. One of the better four on four matches.
