AEW Stat Day

AEW Stat Day

As part of what I’m calling AEW Stat Day, I’ve prepared the below images to depict the wrestlers with the most singles wins in AEW. Join the conversation with others as I share these images on Instagram throughout the day.

I have a lot of observations:

Most Wins Equals Championships in AEW

It’s interesting that the three wrestlers with the most singles wins are also the wrestlers holding the singles championships.

While it makes logical sense that the most wins would translate to championships, the pattern doesn’t really ever seem to hold true in pro wrestling.

Is this a happy coincidence or did AEW plan it this way?

Kip Sabian is Doing Well Comparatively

The person with the most wins after the champions is Kip Sabian of all people. There’s nothing wrong with Superbad Kip Sabian, but he’s not the guy you expect to see at the top of any win-loss list.

Kip’s win percentage is obviously what’s holding him back.

Four Wrestlers Have Six Wins

And their stories are completely different.

MJF is undefeated in AEW, but carries a pair of losses from MLW.

Sammy Guevara has a .500 record and really needs a major victory.

Nyla Rose only loses to World Champions. She’s 6-2 with a loss to both Riho and Shida.

Darby Allin can beat Sammy Guevara multiple times, but that appears to have been his ceiling in the first six months of the year. He’s lost all the big matches (Cody, Pac, Casino Ladder Match). I predict he’ll get a big win in the second half of the year to fins his way into the upper tier.

Brodie Lee and Lance Archer Both Have 5 Wins

That would be a weird match.

Kenny Omega is Undefeated (4-0) in Singles Competition

His victory over Pac in February was perhaps the best singles match of the year in AEW. If not the best, it’s among the top 2-3.

Will Kenny get a title shot in the second half of 2020?

Wardlow and Jake Hager are Both 4-1

Similar to Brodie Lee and Lance Archer, this is another set of great big huge guys with the same win-loss record.
