Announced that the CruiserWeight Tournament Begins on NXT this Wednesday

Tony Nese defeats Danny Burch

The first four minutes included back and forth mat wrestling between Burch and Nese. When Nese used a back elbow, he sent Burch to the outside. Following Burch out of the ring, Nese sent Burch into the barricade multiple times before heading back into the ring.

Burch went for a German Suplex, but Tony Nese flipped through, landed on his feet, and connected with a double stomp for a near fall. Nese earned another near fall after hitting his springboard moonsault. When Nese got frustrated, Burch found an opening to cinch in a crossface. After escaping the crossface, Tony Nese hit a German suplex into the bottom buckle and then the running Nese for the pinfall victory.

As soon as he is able to legally travel, he’ll prove to everyone that there is only one CruiserWeight Champion.

Gallagher had to get in Nese’s face before he would leave.

Lorcan and Gallagher Ends in No Contest

Similar to the previous match, Gallagher and Lorcan began the match by mat wrestling for the first 4 minutes. It turned into a striking battle and then Lorcan hit a side slam. The striking battle continued with both men on their knees. After Lorcan used several chops in the corner, Gallagher began using a series of headbutts. Lorcan followed up with a half and half suplex and a running back elbow to secure the first serious advantage of the match.

Tony Nese came back to ringside with a chair. Nese hopped in the ring, attacked Gallagher, and the referee called for the bell. Tony Nese didn’t discriminate as he also attacked Lorcan. This drew out Burch as the show went off the air.

205 Live Preview

All of the Crusierweights need to secure victories as we head into a tournament to crown an interim CruiserWeight Champion. Tonight’s 205 Live includes a pair of important singles matches.

Oney Lorcan vs. Jack Gallagher

Jack Gallagher (1-0) faces Oney Lorcan (0-2). Lorcan’s losses came at the hands of Tony Nese and Isaiah Swerve Scott. Gallagher defeated Tyler Breeze in his first singles match back last week.

Danny Burch vs. Tony Nese

Danny Burch (2-3) has victories over Joaquin Wilde and the Brian Kendrick. He lost matches to Brian Kendrick, Ariya Daivari, and Kushida.

Tony Nese (2-5) needs to get some victories under his belt with 2020 losses to Cameron Grimes, Lio Rush, Jordan Devlin, Tyler Breeze, and Angel Garza.  He does have a victories over Oney Lorcan and Lio Rush.
