January 24, 2022 – Monday Night Raw

*Live from Toledo, OH.

*Pearce & Graves in the ring for the WWE Championship weigh-in…Bobby Lashley (& MVP) to the ring…Paul Heyman introduces Brock Lesnar…Lashley comes in at 273 in his ring gear…Brock is 286 in jeans, a jacket, & cowboy boots…but he does remove his cowboy hat…some unkind words are exchanged & Brock leaves smiling as Lashley fumes.

(1)  Bianca Belair defeats Queen Zelina…Zelina goes for a Code Red but Bianca powers her to a full stop & counters it into the KOD for the win (03:44).

*Kevin Owens backstage with Kevin Patrick…KO doesn’t like Patrick suggesting he lied/faked his way to victory in his match with Priest last week…tonight he gets a shot at the US Championship.

(2)  Kevin Owens defeats Damian Priest by DQ…when Priest ignores the ref’s 5-count to let Owens out of the corner (09:37)…but Priest retains his United States Championship.

*Rhea Ripley backstage, she plans to win the Royal Rumble…oddly enough, Dana Brooke does, too…hey, what do you know, so does Liv Morgan…LATER…we find that Tamina, Carmella, & Nikki ASH have similar plans…they’re all completely convinced that they’ll win the Rumble, but math says at least 5 of them are wrong…possibly all 6.

*Damian Priest backstage with Sonya…she admonishes him for being out of control.

(3)  Rhea Ripley, Dana Brooke, & Liv Morgan defeat Nikki ASH, Tamina, & Carmella…when Rhea gets Carmella to tap to the Prism Trap (standing inverted clover leaf) for the submission win (02:21)…AFTER…Nikki attacks Rhea from behind before rolling out & heading up the entryway.

*Alpha Academy to the ring for the Academic Challenge, hosted by Kevin Patrick…RKBro follow…we start with a spelling bee, which RKBRo wins because Chad can’t understand Kevin Patrick…almost as if Kevin speaks funny…Randy & Chad argue…match coming.

(4)  Randy Orton defeats Chad Gable…while Riddle & Otis battle at ringside, Randy reverses out of Gable’s ankle lock & sends him into the turnbuckle…as he bounces back out Randy hits the RKO for the win (13:55)…AFTER…Riddle says RKBro gets to pick the 2^nd of the 3 events in their Academic Challenge…an old fashion PhysEd class scooter race.

*Alexa Bliss therapy session…she’s starting to open up…& be less violent/destructive.

*Austin Theory in Vince’s office…Theory asks Vince to secure him a Rumble entry number in the mid-to-high 20s…Vince explains, as we all know, that he has no control over such things…tells Theory he had better bring back a “good selfie” from his match tonight with AJ Styles.

*Veer Mahaan is STILL…oh hell, you know how this goes.

(5)  AJ Styles defeats Austin Theory…a phenomenal back & forth match ends, as it should, when AJ hits the Phenomenal Forearm for the win (16:52).

*Becky Lynch & Doudrop split screen interview…Becky wants Doudrop to thank her for the opportunity…Doudrop says she’ll show gratitude when Becky starts to show respect…Doudrop leaves her position backstage to attack Becky down the hall at hers…refs quickly get between them.

*Rey & Dom backstage with Sarah…Rey is proud to be the WWE 2K22 cover athlete…Dom jokes about tossing dad out on his way to wining the Royal Rumble.

(6)  Rey & Dom Mysterio defeat Street Profits…when Rey hits a Victory Roll on Ford for the win (08:02)…AFTER…Dom tries to toss Rey to the floor but Rey reverses & takes Dom out again…Ford tosses Rey…Dawkins tosses Ford…the Dirty Dawgs appear out of nowhere to toss Dawkins…and round & round these 6 go.

*Seth Rollins backstage with Kevin Patrick…Seth says Roman knows he has Roman’s number…Seth will be at SmackDown to deliver one final message to Roman, in person.

*Miz hosts a birthday extravaganza for Maryse…with extra security to keep any intruders from ruining it…but, you guessed it, Edge & Beth interrupt anyway, lay waste to the security team as Miz & Mrs. Roll out & watch the destruction from near the time keeper’s area.
