Sasha Banks and Bayley Speak

Bayley and Sasha come out. It was funny because the first thing Bayley did was start gesturing to the crowd that doesn’t exist. It has to feel like practice. Bayley and Sasha grab microphones to ask about Paige’s whereabouts. Michael Cole says Paige has travel issues.

Sasha and Bayley defeat Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss

Nikki and Bayley start the match and Nikki backs Bayley into the corner. With Bayley on the mat, Alexa climbed to the top rope, but Banks pulled her out of the ring. Nikki Cross hit Banks with a cross body and Alexa used a sliding dropkick to send Smackdown to commercial break.

Back from commercial, Alexa hit Sasha with a head scissors take over, but Sasha used a drop toe hold to send Alexa into the corner. After a meteora, Sasha tagged out to Bayley. Banks and Bayley managed to isolate Alexa for a long time before she finally got the tag to Nikki Cross. After Nikki Cross hit a bulldog, she went for several roll up covers for a series of near falls.

Asuka came out to the ringside area and tossed Alexa Bliss into the ring steps. Sasha picked up the submission victory over Nikki Cross with the Bank Statement.

Michael Cole In-Ring Interview with John Cena

Michael Cole reminds John Cena that he beat Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania many years ago. Wyatt says that caused the downward spiral in his career. John Cena says Bray Wyatt got lazy. Cena says he lost to a bunch of people and names them. Despite all those losses, nobody ever says John Cena got buried. Cena says he’ll give The Fiend an attitude adjustment.

Cena believes that WWE needs to invest in new people and not people like Bray Wyatt. He took the challenge to take Bray Wyatt out of the equation. He wants to get rid of the most over rated and over hyped person in WWE history.

Bray Wyatt came out to say he is really glad John Cena is here. You’re doing great. Bray says John is wrong about him. Wyatt says John Cena only cares about John Cena. It doesn’t matter who he has to beat up and bury along the way. Six years ago at WrestleMania, you took something from me. Wyatt says that Cena broke him, but the Fiend put him back together. At WrestleMania its going to be a slaughter and you just don’t know it yet.

March 13th Episode of Smackdown Preview

Smackdown takes place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The show begins at 8:00 PM Eastern on the USA Network. Smackdown’s original location was Detroit, MI, but given the situation with the Coronavirus, WWE opted to move the event to the WWE performance center. The show will not have a live audience. This follows a series of unfortunate events over the past 24 hours where many shows across several promotions have been cancelled or postponed.

Announced for the show:

WWE has not announced any matches for tonight’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown. They have advertised appearances by Jeff Hardy, Paige, and John Cena.

Jeff Hardy

Jeff’s injuries kept him away for the better part of a year. He returns tonight after appearing on WWE Backstage last week and announcing his plans to continue on with WWE for some time. That clarification was likely necessary since his brother Matt’s contract expired, and he opted to not renew. On Backstage, Jeff mentioned that he wants a big singles WrestleMania moment before his career is over.

Paige

Paige is not an in-ring performer, so the advertised confrontation with Bayley will probably be uneventful unless Paige brings a new protege to attempt taking Bayley out. Let’s see what happens.

John Cena

John Cena is on a collision course with the Fiend for WrestleMania. He appeared to accept the challenge two weeks ago, and WWE has announced the match. My guess is that this will be the show where Cena gets choked out by the Fiend.
