March 25th Episode of NXT Television Preview
Opening Video Package Says Gargano and Ciampa have to Answer to Triple H
Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton are on Commentary and announce that the TakeOver Tampa matches will happen on USA.
Tyler Breeze defeats Austin Theory
After a whole bunch of jaw jacking, Tyler Breeze got the first major move with a dropkick and a pair of flying forearms. Theory caught Breeze running into the corner, and he came out with a rolling thunder into a blockbuster. Austin Theory ran his mouth a lot while he held Breeze in a reverse chin lock. Before NXT went to a commercial break, Theory did another rolling thunder transitioning into a dropkick.
Back from the break, Tyler Breeze made a comeback with a couple of dropkicks and a pair of flying forearms. Theory caught Breeze coming off the second rope to hit a swinging powerbomb from the inverted fireman’s carry. On the outside, Theory tossed Breeze through the barricade as the referee began his count.
Tyler Breeze rolled back in the ring at the count of 8 and hit Theory with a jumping knee strike. When Breeze went for a hurricanrana, Austin stopped him and through him with a buckle bomb. As Theory went for another rolling thunder, Tyler Breeze got a near fall when he hit a super model kick.
Austin Theory pulled Tyler Breeze off the top rope and transitioned out of a vertical suplex position to drape Breeze’s neck across his knee. After a series of kicks, Theory went over to grab his cell phone in the corner and recorded a video. Of course, all this weird stuff led to Tyler Breeze hitting a spinning heel kick for the victory.
Killian Dain defeats Tehuti Miles
Killian Dain began the match by rubbing his forearm across Miles’ face in the corner. Miles attempted to use his speed against Dain, but Dain hit Miles with a pump kick to send Tehuti off the apron to the floor. On the outside, Dain used the stairs and the barricade to brutalize Miles. Back in the ring, Dain used knees and kicks in the corner.
Miles kept kicking Dain, but he couldn’t take Killian Dain off his feet. After a senton and a Vader bomb, Killian Dain got the pinfall victory.
Cameron Grimes defeats Tony Nese
Nese backed Grimes into the corner and flexed in front of him, and Nese continued with an arm-bar on Grimes. When Grimes went for a sunset flip, Nese rolled through and kicked Grimes in the face. After Nese hung Grimes out to dry by draping his neck over the top rope, Nese hit his springboard moonsault for a near fall.
Nese and Grimes exchanged strikes until Grimes hit Cave In for the pinfall victory.
Xia Li Got Taken Out in the Backstage Area
The Joshi Judas Io Shirai made her return. General Manager Regal told Mark Hamilton that he had a cleared superstar to compete against Aliyah. Io Shirai came out.
Io Shirai defeats Aliyah to Qualify for Number One Contender Ladder Match
Shirai hit Aliyah with a dropkick and stomped and hit double knees on Aliyah in the corner. Aliyah managed to shove Shirai in the corner and kick her a few times, but Shirai came right back hitting a backbreaker from a double undertook position. Shirai hit the moonsault for the pinfall victory.

In-Ring Interview with Keith Lee
Keith Lee admits that he mistakenly attacked Dominik Dijakovic a few weeks ago. He said he owed him an apology, and Dominic came out to the ring. Dominik said he doesn’t care about the apology, and all he cares about is the North American Championship. Damien Priest came out and told Lee and Dijakovic that he wants the championship. Keith Lee says the champ is standing right here. Priest got on the apron and Dijakovic started to attack him. Lee pulled Dominik off and rolled to the outside with Priest. Dijakovic hit both Lee and Priest with a springboard tope con hilo to the floor.
Adam Cole Pre-Taped Segment
He’s on vacation poolside. He says Velveteen Dream got him flustered, but then he thought “why am I flustered.” He says Velveteen Dream has done nothing to earn a title shot. Bobby Fish on the other hand would like a shot at the Velveteen Dream “experience.”
Lorcan and Burch defeat Thorne and Vink
Brendan Vink sent Burch to the mat out of a collar and elbow tie up. Thorne tagged into the match and Burch wrestled him to the ground and stomped on his hand. Lorcan came into the match, hit a couple of chops, but Thorne got out of the way and tagged Thorne. As Lorcan ran at Vink, Brendan picked him right up and hit a ura nage for a near fall.
Thorne came back in and exchanged upper cuts with Lorcan. Burch caught Vink with a cutter, an enziguri, and a missile drop kick. Lorcan and Burch put both men in submissions for a double tap out.
Candice LeRae defeats Kayden Carter to Qualify for Number One Contender Ladder Match
Candice immediately took Carter to the mat and the two women exchanged holds for a few moments. Kayden Carter went through a series of evasions and pinfall attempts. Carter hit a springboard dropkick off the bottom rope, but LeRae evaded the splash in the corner and answered with one of her own and a snap mare. When Candice went for a senton splash, Carter moved out of the way and followed up with a few strikes including a running knee to the face.
Candice did eventually hit the senton and she cinched in the Gargano Escape for the pinfall victory.
Matt Riddle defeats Roderick Strong
Strong and Riddle went through a long feeling out process. The first major move was a gut wrench suplex from Matt Riddle, but it did not earn him an advantage. Strong eventually got a couple of knees to the midsection and some high kicks before draping Riddle over the top rope sending NXT to a commercial break.
Back from the break, Riddle seemed to turn things around with a pele kick and several strikes, but Strong didn’t let him maintain the advantage for long as he cinched in the Strong Hold. Riddle came right back and hit Bro To Sleep and a German suplex for a near fall.
After a running knee to the face and an Olympic Slam, Strong got a near fall. When Strong began running the rope hitting Riddle with forearm shots, Riddle stopped him and hit the Broderick for the pinfall victory.
Post Match
Strong got attacked from behind by two big guys. Riddle tried to fight back, but he was unsuccessful. Some guy named Malcolm came out with a microphone to introduce the “future of the NXT Tag Team division.” He didn’t say the names of the two wrestlers.
Match Announcement for Next Week
- Velveteen Dream vs. Bobby Fish
- Second Chance Gauntlet Match to Determine the Final Competitor in the Ladder Match (Shotzi Blackheart, Kayden Carter, Aliyah, Dakota Kia, Xia Li, Deonna Purazzo)
- Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic vs. Damien Priest for the North American Championship
In-Ring Interview with Triple H
He says that in the history of NXT, there has not been a rivalry so . . . .
Tommaso Ciampa interrupted and came out to the ring. Ciampa says that it has been 5 years and everything to be said has been said. Triple H asked Gargano to come out, and he did.
Triple H says William Regal wanted to fire both of them. Hunter told Gargano to get in the ring because there wasn’t going to be any physicality tonight.
Triple H says it has gone on long enough and some day they’ll regret it. Gargano interuppted him again saying he regretted not breaking Ciampa’s neck a year ago.
Hunter kept trying to announce a match at WrestleMania, but they kept interrupting. Eventually Gargano said he doesn’t want the grandest stage.
The match will happen in two weeks in an empty building. The referee will only be there to say its over. Triple H says that if the fighting goes on afterward, they’ll both be fired.

Triple H Returns for the March 25th Episode of NXT Television
Given the state of things in the world and in WWE, I can think of a million things “The Game” might want to tell us about. Providing the WWE Universe with an update on NXT TakeOver Tampa and how those storylines and matches come to conclusion is obviously front of mind. He may also want to take Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano to the woodshed over the destruction they caused at the WWE Performance Center. I guess we’ll find out tonight.
Adam Cole’s Big Message
Cole planned to have a Championship Celebration last week as he passed Finn Balor’s 292 day record as NXT Champion. Apparently, Adam has a special message for the WWE Universe tonight. While Velveteen Dream seems to have his sights set on Cole’s NXT Championship, one has to also assume that Finn Balor can’t stand Adam Cole running his mouth about breaking his record. Having said that, I don’t know if Finn Balor is in the U.S. right now.
Matt Riddle vs. Roderick Strong
NXT has advertised a singles match between Matt Riddle and Roderick Strong. One has to assume that the Undisputed Era still wants revenge for the Broserweights relieving them of their Tag Team titles.
A Pair of Number One Contender Ladder Match Qualifying Matches
Chelsea Green and Tegan Nox qualified for the ladder match earlier this month, and WWE has set up two additional qualifying matches to determine some additional participants. Candice LeRae squares off with Kayden Carter and Xia Li faces Aliyah to determine the next two participants.
Tyler Breeze vs. Austin Theory
After Austin Theory disrespected Tyler Breeze during a backstage interview, Breeze burned him with a witty comeback: “You look pretty good for a flash in the pan.” Will Theory prove to be a flash in the pan or will he step up to the plate and give Prince Pretty a run for his money.
