Ocean and Austin Deliver in Exciting Bash at the Brew Grudge Match

The King of Flight Will Austin and The Neckbreak Kid Alex Ocean wrestled to a 15 minute No Contest  at Coastal Championship Wrestling’s (CCW) Bash at the Brew 4 in Hialeah, FL on May 1.

Fans piled into Unbranded Brewery in unexpected numbers causing the great Miami chair shortage of 2021.

Just before 5 PM on the day of the show, CCW Executive Director Nelio Cuomo Costa updated his Facebook profile asking for chairs. Nelio wrote, “I know short notice but unexpectedly need about 150 more chairs by 6:30pm. DM me now if you have them, or have the hookup.”

30 Minutes Later, Costa posted an update, “As it stands we are in standing room only situation, but the venue is huge.”

As it turned out, fans wouldn’t use their chairs during the Austin-Ocean match. The action simply demanded that even the most casual of wrestling fan stand up and cheer.

Prior to the match even starting, Ocean fans began an “Alex Ocean” chant, which was quickly followed by the Will Austin entourage answering with “Hollywood, Hollywood” – Hollywood, FL being the hometown of CCW’s King of Flight.

Moments later, Ocean would attempt the match’s first dive only to get a face full of a steel chair. While chairs were a rare commodity in Hialeah, Austin and Ocean seemed to have a full supply to use as weaponry.

As Ocean recovered, Austin attempted a dive of his own only to land on and completely destroy an ever increasingly valuable chair.

Before a table or ladder appeared, which of course they eventually did, both Austin and Ocean were busted open.

The wreckage continued as Austin hit Ocean with a rotating vertical suplex off the middle rope and through a table. As Referee Bruce Owens cleaned the ring of table parts and pieces, Austin pulled chairs from the crowd and tossed them in the ring – a decision The King of Flight would soon regret as Ocean stood on four of those chairs only to send Will’s head through the chairs with a piledriver.

The match seemed to go off the rails when Ocean blocked Austin’s attempt at a Spanish Fly off the apron, so that the Neckbreak Kid could send Austin to the floor with a Death Valley Driver through tables and chairs. Karina Rucinque captured the moment and posted the carnage to Twitter (shown below). At this point, CCW’s Dan Evans, members of the ring crew, and an additional referee (Amy Veronica) found their way to ringside.

Will Austin and Alex Ocean made it back into the ring, but they took turns shoving Referee Bruce Owens as he attempted to bring order. When Bruce kept coming back, Austin and Ocean jointly made the decision to push Owens to the mat.

Owens called for the bell as Ocean and Austin continued to throw fists of fury. Tiffany Nieves and Johnny Walker took turns announcing the match would end in a No Contest.

At this point, Referee Owens had to endure a barrage of “Ref – You Suck” chants.

Contested under No Disqualification rules, this bout was meant to conclude an intense rivalry born out of a double count out at Bash at the Brew 2.

Fans, now rabid for a conclusion, would hear Ocean lay down a challenge for a Last Man Standing Match. Will Austin agreed to the match for next month’s Bash at the Brew 5.

With Ocean and Austin seemingly set for a decisive conclusion to their rivalry at next month’s epic showdown, two days later Will Austin took to Twitter to remind CCW that he’s “Not Dead Yet.”

The CCW Faithful is happy to hear it because they’re still standing (looking for chairs) and shouting “Fight Forever.”

Thank You Will! Thank You Alex!
