Episode 111 – What Must Shingo do To Establish the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship

After a 36-minute match with Kazuchika Okada, Shingo Takagi won the vacant IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Dominion show.

A day later, Takagi said “waking up this morning and having the belt there in my room let me know that it wasn’t all a dream and what happened was real.”

The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship has a short history. It’s only been around since March, and we’ve already seen three champions.

How is it possible that a company known for lengthy title reigns is bouncing their new world title around? What role does Shingo Takagi play now that he’s champion?

I’m Ryan Joy and I run Minutes To Bell Time dot com. A website and database tracking pro wrestling from around the world.

On today’s show, we’re talking about Shingo Takagi and what he needs to do to establish the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
