PWA’s Started with a Kiss

PWA’s Started with a Kiss

“Adam’s Take on PWA’s Rumble” comes from Contributor “Alcoholic” Adam Pokrajac. Pokrajac routinely provides the cold hard truth on Australian Wrestling with a heavy focus on New South Wales. He believes this is the most under appreciated wrestling scene in the world today and he reviews it with a beer in his hand.

Your favourite Alcoholic Adam breaks down PWA’s Started with a Kiss event that takes place on the 12th of March at 4AM Eastern Time (8PM Local Time in Australia). To watch the event head over to FITE TV play where you can catch the action live.

The Nations Mick Moretti & Jack J Bonza v Aussie Open Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher

  • Aussie Open is looking to make a statement in this dream match at the expense of one of the most feared factions in the world: the Nations.
  • After Aussie Open’s shocking return back home in Australia, they want to show that they’re still the best tag team on the planet.
  • The defeated Matty Walhberg & Ricky South last show.
  • For the Nations, and in particular Bonza and Moretti, they haven’t pursued the tag team championships much lately. The normally dominate the division and would love another opportunity to become the PWA Tag Team Champions.

Adam Prediction: Aussie Open are a lot more familiar teaming with each other. They get a slight edge because Bonza and Moretti have been focussing on getting singles accomplishments.

AJ Istria v Sam Osborne

  • No big elaborate storyline. Just a match to determine who’s better.
  • AJ Istria is one of the top guys from Wrestle Rampage. Some may argue he is the best technical wrestler in the country.
  • Osborne claims he will tap out AJ Istria beating him at his own game before going on to win the PWA Rumble.
  • AJ admits Osborne has shined under Don Marnell.

Adam’s Prediction: Don Marnell will distract the referee leaving an opening for Osborne’s underhanded tactics. Osborne gets the advantage and makes Istria submit.

Charli Evans v Jessica Troy (C) (NO DQ) (PWWA Championship)

  • These ladies have been like sisters and both started their training at nearly the same time. They’ve been best friends constantly teaming together and winning their first championship together.
  • But all that changed when Charli tried to improve her career travelling around the world. Jess travelled but always came back to Australia.
  • Jess feels Charli was a lousy friend absent for Jess’s top moment beating Millie McKenzie.
  • Charli said in the promo building up to this match that she needed to step out of Jess’s shadow.
  • So clearly both their problems are 100% valid, that’s why this match requires the no DQ stipulation. This match is personal.

Adam Prediction: Charli is a lot more comfortable taking matches to a very dark place.

Caveman Ugg (C) v “Tuff Stuff” Ricky South (PWA Heavyweight Championship)

  • This match has been building for over a year.
  • Ricky was primed even running a gauntlet defeating Ugg via count out to earn the right to be called no.1 contender.
  • Ricky believes himself to be one of the standard barriers for PWA, and he represents PWA wrestling interstate or overseas as he competes against the best. Ricky feels the responsibility to be the man waving the PWA Flag.
  • Ricky says, he doesn’t need to win it for anybody else. For once in his life, he has to be selfish in order to go to the next level and become champion. Ricky needs to pull out all the stops to prevent Ugg from retaining. South would rather be selfish with a championship than a nice guy with nothing.

Adam’s Prediction: Ricky’s time is now and he is beyond desperate. He needs to win the Championship to justify everything he has ever done in his career up to this point providing enough motivation to knock off Ugg once and for all.

PWA RUMBLE

  • Rumbles are so unpredictable with so much chaos and the number of people really even out the playing field. That said, here are some potential winners:
    • Mick Moretti
      • Moretti is hungry after coming so close to winning the PWA premiership. He might have something up his sleeve for the rumble.
    • Sam Osborne
      • Osborne lasted 72 minutes last time they had a rumble, so you know he’ll be hungry to right the wrong from last time and win the whole thing
    • Unsocial Jordan
      • Jordan is always crafty and Rumbles always favour the people who are crafty. He could pick his moment to strike.
    • Lyrebird Luchi
      • Luchi has all the momentum in the world following his PWA Premiership victory. Don’t be surprised if he carries this momentum to win the Rumble.

Adam’s Prediction: Osborne is laser focussed. It just feels like he can not be stopped under the guidance of Don Marnell.
