September 10th Smackdown

*9/11 Video Package, Never Forget…dissolves into a live feed inside MSG, the Universe already in the middle of a rousing “U-S-A! U-S-A!” chant.

*Roman Reigns & the Bloodline to the ring…Roman says WWE runs NYC & the Tribal Chief runs WWE, therefore the Tribal Chief runs NYC & MSG…the Universe acknowledges him…BROCK LESNAR interrupts…Heyman tries to talk sense into Brock, get him to go after another title…Brock throws Heyman under the bus, “Why didn’t you tell Roman I was going to be at SummerSlam?”…Roman rips the Universal title out of Heyman’s arms & walks off in disgust…Heyman is visibly shaken, but pivots quickly & does an enthusiastic intro for Brock Lesnar which brings a big smile to Brock’s face…the smile fades & Brock tells Heyman that before Roman fires him, his last act as special counsel should be to accepts his challenge for a Universal title match on behalf of Roman…when Heyman doesn’t do so fast enough, Brock scoops him up into a Fireman’s Carry but Roman returns & delivers a Superman Punch…Brock catches Roman mid-flight during his attempt for a 2^nd punch, but the Usos attack, allowing Roman & Heyman to head for safety…the Usos don’t hold the upper hand for long & both take a trip to Suplex City.

*Kayla is backstage & tries to get an answer from Roman to Brock’s challenge, but Roman & the Usos ignore her…Heyman (after calling her a Jersey Girl & trying to make it sound like an insult…as if?!) informs Kayla that Roman will answer when he deems it appropriate.

(1)  Big E./Nakamura/Boogs/Rey/Dom defeat Sami/Otis/Ziggler/Roode/Apollo…Sami Zayn introduces NBA star Trae Young to piss off the MSG crowd, it works exceedingly well…the match is chaos almost from the start…back from commercial, Trae Young interferes with Rey & gets ejected by the ref…Rey & Dom hit a double 619 on Sami…Big E. hits the Big Ending for the win (07:36)…AFTER…Kayla is in the ring with Big E, asks about when he’ll cash in the Money n the Bank contract…Big E. says it might be tonight, might be next Monday on Raw…but anyone who’s got what Big E. needs (presumably gold) is gonna FEEL HIS POWER!

*Bianca Belair to the ring for the contract signing…says she respected that Becky would never run from a fight, but things have changed…Becky Lynch to the ring in a giant red fur & Bono’s sunglasses…Becky hesitates to sign…Bianca gets the crowd to chant “sign it”…Becky gets offended, gives the crowd some hell (maybe she will get the crowd to boo like a true heel)…Becky signs, throws the contract at Bianca, & bails.

*Paul Heyman on his phone backstage…Shotzi & Tegan offer him a ride on the tank…Paul doesn’t accept, and turns around to be startled by Kayla again, she still wants an answer…Heyman says Roman will answer the challenge after he watches the Usos defend their tag titles…Paul turns around to be startled again, this time by Big E. & his MitB briefcase.

(2)  Seth Rollins defeats Edge…Rollins uses Beth’s Glam Slam twice on Edge…so Edge hits Seth’s mentor HHH’s Pedigree on Seth…Rollins with a low blow kick behind the ref’s back, followed by a series of kneeling & standing superkicks, & finally a Stomp…Seth hesitates as Edge lays motionless before slowly crawling into the cover for the win (25:35)…AFTER…back from commercial we watch Pearce, Sonya, Rey Mysterio, & EMT’s loading Edge into an ambulance, immobilized on a stretcher & in a neck brace.

*Seth is not far from the ambulance as it pulls away…Sarah asks him how he feels about what transpired…a confused Seth says he doesn’t know how to feel, maybe he doesn’t feel anything at all.

*Roman gives the Usos a final pep talk before their title defense…then turns to Heyman & reminds him that he saved him from Brock earlier…asks why Paul didn’t tell him that Brock was at SummerSlam…Heyman is speechless as we go to commercial.

(3)  Street Profits defeat Usos by DQ…but do not take the SmackDown Tag Team Championship…at ~7  minute mark, Roman makes his way ringside…Jimmy attempts an Uso Splash, but Dawkins gets the knees up…Ford follows with “From the Heavens” splash of his own…Roman breaks up the pin, causing the DQ (16:14)…

AFTER…Roman locks the Guillotine on Ford & chokes him out…Roman gets on the mic, says he ducks no man & will smash Brock as soon as he’s done smashing Finn Balor…the lights go low & for the first time ever on SmackDown, The Demon appears…the show ends with Roman & the Demon face to face in the ring.
