General News Stories

  • LA Knight won the vacant Million Dollar Championship in a ladder match at NXT TakeOver In Your House
  • WWE announced Great American Bash as a themed episode of NXT on July 6
  • Shawn Daivari is back with WWE as a producer.
  • Salina de la Renta has been spotted at the PC – Fightful Reports that WWE has interest in her for quite some time.
  • PW Insider Reports that the current belief is that WWE will run Saudi Arabia once before the end of the year.
  • John Cena spoke to Chris Van Vliet and confirmed that it is not a matter of whether he’ll return to WWE but a matter of when he’ll return to WWE
  • Piper Niven, one of the primary members of the NXT UK women’s division, was called up to Monday Night Raw on 6/14. She is evidently going through a character change as the commentary team acted like they didn’t know her.
  • Samoa Joe returned to NXT after being released from WWE’s main roster on April 15th. The nature of Joe’s deal is unknown, but it is believed to be a non-wrestling contract. Having said that, his entire involvement on NXT was of a physical nature. It certainly appeared that NXT was setting up angles for matches. Joe got physical with Adam Cole and had stare downs with Karrion Kross and Pete Dunne.
  • Blake Christian made his WWE debut on the 6/15 episode of NXT under the name Tre Baxter. He lost to Kushida. Christian appeared for Ring of Honor, New Japan, and Impact in the last year.
  • Fightful reports that several wrestlers released from their WWE contracts have asked for the 90 day non-compete to be waived. Apparently WWE has been more receptive than ever when it comes to approving those requests.
  • The Roman Reigns v. Rey Mysterio match originally planned for this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell was moved to Smackdown.
  • PW Insider reported that there has been a lot of talk in WWE that the decision to release Aleister Black was premature.
  • WWE continued to count down the top their Top 50 Greatest Tag Team List. Here are numbers 20 down to 11
