Fact Check: That was the first DQ on Rampage

On the February 4th episode of AEW Rampage, Mercedes Martinez pulled out a lead pipe and used it during her match with Thunder Rosa. When the referee signaled for the bell, Chris Jericho explained that he believed that to be the first DQ in Rampage history.

Rob Chamadias called upon me to do a fact check by throwing up the bat signal in the Minutes to Bell Time Facebook Group.

This one is true. Here are all of the DQ’s in AEW History with none happening on Rampage until last night:

  • Kenny Omega v. Pac – February 26, 2020 AEW Dynamite – Pac was disqualified in the first fall of a thirty minute Iron Man Match. Omega would eventually win the match 2 falls to 1.
  • Brandon Cutler v. Peter Avalon – October 13, 2020 AEW Dark – Cutler and Avalon both used weapons in the match, which led to a double disqualification.
  • Shawn Dean v. MJF – January 5, 2022 AEW Dynamite – CM Punk attacked Shawn Dean in order to draw a disqualification victory for Dean.
  • Mercedes Martinez v. Thunder Rosa – February 4, 2022 AEW Rampage – Mercedes Martinez attacked Thunder Rosa with a lead pipe leading a DQ.

As of now, there has yet to be a disqualification finish on AEW Dark Elevation or any AEW Pay Per Views.
