                    Cold Open – Money in the Bank Recap

                    Miz TV

                    Otis didn’t wait for Miz to introduce him before coming out. Miz sarcastically congratulated him. Otis let’s us know that he has a Bratwurst in the suitcase in case he gets hungry. They do a “this is your life” segment going through old pictures. Miz and Morrison want to have a tag match, but Tucky isn’t around.

                    Bracket is Revealed for Intercontinental Championship Tournament

                    Elias defeats King Corbin

                    King Corbin got the early advantage wrestling Elias to the mat with a chin lock. Elias swung things back using a mule kick in the corner and tossing Corbin out of the ring. From the top rope, Elias dove and took out Corbin. Corbin grabbed Elias’ guitar and tried to play a tune. It really ticked Elias off, so he tossed Corbin into the time keeper area as Smackdown went to commercial.

                    Back from the break, Elias had the advantage over Corbin. When Elias attempted to walk the ropes, Corbin shook the ropes and Elias fell. Corbin caught Elias with a big spine buster and a big chokeslam. King Corbin broke the guitar over the post. When he came back in the ring, Elias hit a high knee and won with an inside cradle.

                    Otis Asks Sheamus to Tag With Him

                    “Not a chance fella.”

                    Mandy suggests that he ask Braun Strowman. Otis thinks his beautiful peach is a genius.

                    Strowman tells Otis he’ll think about it.

                    Dana Brooke defeats Naomi

                    Naomi took the first couple of offensive moves, but then Dana hit her handspring back elbow. Naomi blocked the second attempt and hit a cross body from the top rope. When Naomi attempted to roll Dana up, but Dana sat down and pinned Naomi’s shoulders to the mat.

                    Charlotte Flair Appears

                    Charlotte says she’s surprised they don’t have an enormous picture of her hanging to inspire the entire roster. Bayley says she would say “it’s nice to see you, but I’m a role model now and I don’t lie.” Sasha and Bayley say the last time we saw you, Bayley defeated Charlotte to become a 2 time champion. Bayley tells her to go back to Raw.

                    Charlotte says Sasha is the only reason Bayley is champion. She then questions whether Sasha is content standing next to Bayley. Bayley challenges Charlotte to a match, and Charlotte accepts. After she accepts, Charlotte accepts whether Sasha is happy being Bayley’s lackey.

                    Kayla Braxton Interview with Braun Strowman

                    Since Braun is warming up, she wants to know if that’s a sign that he is accepting Otis’ request. He says he’s still chewing on it.

                    Forgotten Sons

                    They served their country, but they weren’t welcomed home with open arms. So they are going to welcome you with closed fists.

                    Renee Young Backstage Segment with Miz and Morrison

                    Not even Braun Strowman is stupid enough to let Otis get him in the ring.

                    Daniel Bryan defeats Drew Gulak

                    Bryan and Gulak traded wrestling holds with both getting their signature submissions  in the first couple of minutes. Gulak and Bryan hit a series of standing switches until they got close to the ropes and Gulak dumped Bryan over the top rope. Smackdown went to commercial.

                    Back from the break, Gulak had the advantage but Daniel Bryan went to work on Drew’s leg with a series of dragon screw leg whips. Gulak evaded and hit a Michinoku Driver, but he couldn’t sustain the advantage. Bryan used a German suplex, but he missed the running knee. After a series of counters, Drew cinched in the Gu-lock. Bryan escaped.

                    Bryan did what I can only describe as a dragon screw ankle whip and then locked in a heel hook to secure the submission victory.

                    Renee Young Asks What this Means to Daniel Bryan

                    Daniel says he wants to make the IC title to be the championship of Smackdown. He wants it to represent the greatest wrestler in WWE, and he thinks that’s him. He reminds us that he had to give up the title when he was forced into retiring. Gulak and Bryan shook hands.

                    Backstage Promo

                    Sonya says they’ll humiliate them next week. Mandy is only good at one thing: being blond and pretty.  Sonya says she’ll never be a winner like her. Great promo from Sonya. Dolph just stood there.

                    Otis and Strowman defeat Miz and Morrison

                    Otis and Morrison begin the match with Otis getting the early advantage with a big body slam. Strowman and Otis did a double caterpillar elbow smash as Smackdown went to commercial. Back from commercial, The Miz had an advantage over Otis. Smackdown showed a replay of Miz poking Otis in the eye during the commercial break. Otis suplexed both men and tagged in Braun Strowman. Strowman ran wild on both men tossing Miz and Morrison around the ring. Strowman hit the post hard, but he quickly recovered. After a powerslam to Morrison, Strowman picked up the pinfall victory.

                    Mandy Rose Came Out

                    Otis gestured like he might cash in, but he said it was just for a little laugh.

                     

                    May 15th Episode of Smackdown Preview

                    WWE has not not announced any specific matches for Smackdown this evening, but they did confirm that the Tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion will begin this evening.

                    Intercontinental Championship Tournament Begins

                    We don’t know anything about the tournament at this moment. Sami Zayn is unable to defend the Intercontinental Championship, so WWE has stripped Zayn of the title. The tournament begins tonight. Sami Zayn won the Intercontinental Championship from Braun Strowman at March 8th Elimination Chamber Pay Per View. He later defended and retained the title against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania.

                    Miz TV with Special Guest: Otis

                    Otis won the Money in the Bank Briefcase in the main event of Sunday’s Money in the Bank event. He has said in multiple interviews that he won’t wait long to cash in the briefcase. Otis has a 4-0 record this year winning Money in the Bank and with additional victories over Dolph Ziggler on 4/4 and 5/1, and Drew Gulak.

                    If for some reason, this breaks down into a match between The Miz and Otis, here’s the 2020 history on The Miz. He is 1-2 with a victory over Kofi Kingston. His losses came at the hands of Big E and Kofi Kingston.

                    Charlotte Flair Special Appearance

                    WWE announced that Charlotte Flair will appear on Smackdown this week. What will the NXT Champion have in store for the Smackdown Women’s division. Charlotte has an 8-1 record in 2020 winning the Royal Rumble and defeating Mia Yim, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, Sarah Logan, Kayden Carter, Bianca Belair, and Liv Morgan. She got herself disqualified in a match against Io Shirai, which resulted in her first loss of 2020.
