April 21st AEW Dark Results

Penelope Ford defeats Anna Jay

Penelope Ford took Anna Jay down with a pair of shoulder tackles, but failed to capitalize. After Jay used a pair of arm drags, Sabian hopped up on the apron. The distraction led to Ford hitting her handspring back elbow in the corner. Penelope won the match using a fisherman suplex.

Cody defeats Joe Alonzo

Alonzo shook the hand of Cody and whipped him to the mat and kicked him in the back. This led to a pissed off Cody who followed up with a powerslam, a delayed face first suplex, and 10 push ups. On the outside Cody slammed Alonzo into the apron several times. Back in the ring, Alonzo managed to hit a cutter but it had no affect on Cody.

A few moments later, Cody cinched in a modified sharpshooter for the submission victory.

April 21st AEW Dark Preview

Cody’s only loss came at the hands of MJF at AEW Revolution. He has defeated Shawn Spears in the opening round of the TNT Championship Tournament, Darby Allin, Kip Sabian, Wardlow, Jimmy Havoc, and Ortiz.

Joe Alonzo’s only match was a losing effort against Jake Hager.

Anna Jay (0-1) vs. Penelope Ford (1-1)

Anna Jay lost her first AEW match against Hikaru Shida. Penelope Ford had a huge victory over Riho earlier this year and an unfortunate loss to Hikaru Shida in a four way match that also featured Kris Statlander and Riho.
