Imperium defeats Ashton Carter and Oliver Smith

Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter have some new entrance music. The match begins with Carter and Barthel  in the ring, and Barthel immediately began stretching Carter. Aichner tagged into the match and brought Carter back to the mat with an arm drag.

Carter managed to land a number of strikes, but he couldn’t keep up with both members of Imperium. Aichner and Barthel isolated Carter in their corner beating him down with several strikes before they both landed dropkicks on Carter as he lay in the corner. Carter fought back and slipped out of a suplex getting the tag to Ashton Smith.

With Smith now in the ring, he hit a number of slams, but Carter tagged back into the match. Smith back body dropped Carter onto Aichner. Barthel jumped back in to even the score. As Imperium went for their finishing maneuver, Smith pushed Barthel off the ropes and Carter went for a pinfall out of the hurricanrana. He didn’t succeed. Imperium gets the win after the European Bomb.

Pre-Taped Card Match with Gallus

Gallus apparently won the game.

Backstage Interviews

Tyler Bate and Trent Seven say “may the best boy win.”

Alexander Wolfe says he will win the match for Imperium.

Apparently Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith will compete in the battle royal too.

Aoife Valkyrie defeats Nina Samuels

Valkyrie used a side headlock, but Samuels escaped. Valkyrie took Samuels down with a shoulder tackle, but Samuels locked in a head scissors and Valkyrie flipped out. Samuels pulled Valkyries neck down over the second rope and cinched in a submission. Once Valkyrie got out, she hit a step-up enziguri and a blockbuster for a near fall. Valkyrie climbed to the top rope, but Samuels slipped to the outside, so Valkyrie hit a diving dropkick through the ropes.

Back in the ring, Samuels slapped Valkyrie, which angered Valkyrie. She hit a high strike and then put Samuels away with her diving leg drop.

Backstage Interview with Piper Niven

Piper says she doesn’t think Luna knows how destructive Kay Lee Ray can be. Next week, Niven and Luna will have a tag team match against Kay Lee Ray and Jinny.

Backstage Interview with Flash Morgan Webster

He vows to find out who attacked Mark Andrews, but also announced himself as a competitor in the Battle Royal to determine the Number 1 contender.

Noam Dar defeats A-Kid

Noam Dar wrestled Kid to the mat, but Kid escaped and cinched in a head scissors. Supernova 11 escaped. With both men back on their feet, Kid went for a spin kick but Dar evaded. Kid and Dar went for a million pinfall attempts, but neither were successful. Dar finally seemed to get the advantage, but A-Kid did escaped an arm-bar and hit a dropkick sending Dar to the outside.

When A-Kid came off the top rope, Dar grabbed his arm and locked in a Fujiwara Arm-Bar. A-Kid found a way out of the fujiwara and got one of his own. Once they finally released their holds, Dar got a low blow and the shining wizard for the pinfall victory.

Post Match

After the match, Dar grabbed a microphone and announced himself for the battle royal.

Backstage Interviews

Dave Mastiff, Ilja Dragunov, and Kassius Ohno announce for the battle royal.

Jordan Devlin defeats Travis Banks to Retain the CruiserWeight Championship

Devlin and Banks wrestled through the first three minute of the match with Travis Banks getting two or three pinfall attempts. Devlin slipped to the outside, and upon coming back into the ring, Banks clotheslined him back out. Travis Bank went for a suicide dive, but he missed and hit the barricade very hard.

Back in the ring, Devlin hit Banks with a running knee. As Devlin ran into the corner, Banks managed to kick him in the face, but moments later Devlin hit a standing Spanish Fly to stop Banks from seizing control of the match. Devlin and Banks exchanged chops until Devlin put Banks down on the mat. Jordan Devlin slammed Travis Banks with a ura nage, but he missed a moonsault. Banks then made his comeback hitting a cannonball in the corner and a German suplex with a bridge for a near fall.

Banks hit a number of strikes that eventually sent Devlin to the outside. This time Banks hit the running suicide dive. After tossing Devlin back in the ring, Banks used a double stomp to earn a near fall. Devlin connected with a double stomp and then both men used head butts to take each other out. Jordan Devlin climbed to the top, but Banks took out his legs and hit a double stomp. That exchange was not enough to earn Banks the pin, so Banks climbed back to the top.

Before Banks could do anything, Devlin hit a enziguri and used a cutter to pull Banks off the ropes.

Banks hit slice of heaven, but Jordan Devlin evaded the Kiwi Crusher. Devlin surprised Banks with an O’Connor Roll for the pin.

March 26th Episode of NXT UK Preview

Results will go up live starting at 3PM Eastern today. Come back here to see those results.

Jordan Devlin defends the NXT Cruiserweight Championship Against Travis Banks

Travis Banks and Jordan Devlin have a history together that dates back to the first NXT UK TakeOver where Devlin took Banks out before the event. Today Travis Banks gets an opportunity to capture the Cruiserweight Championship that Devlin won at World’s Collide. Banks enters todays match with a 1-2 singles record for the year with a win over Brian Kendrick and losses to Alexander Wolfe and to Devlin in the World’s Collide Cruiserweight Four-Man Championship Match. Jordan Devlin enters with a 5-1 record winning the CruiserWeight Championship in the same Four-Man match and additional wins over Ligero, Tyler Breeze, Lio Rush, and a triple threat against Lio Rush and Tony Nese. His only loss came to Tyler Bate.

Which one walks out with the Cruiserweight Championship?

Imperium’s Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner vs. Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter

Barthel and Aichner are only 1-2 this year in traditional tag team matches with a win over the Forgotten Sons and losses in the NXT UK Tag Team Ladder Match at NXT UK Takeover and to the team of Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle in the Dusty Cup. They also have a win with Alexander Wolfe over Flash Morgan Webster, Mark Andrews, and Dave Mastiff and another win as Imperium defeated the Undisputed Era at World’s Collide. Smith and Carter are 2-0 so far this year with wins over The Outliers and the team of Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley. While Smith and Carter have the better record, Imperium has clearly had the tougher schedule. This looks like an opportunity for Barthel and Aichner to get back on track.

Nina Samuels vs. Aoife Valkyrie

Nina Samuels is 0-1 this year losing to Isla Dawn, but she has a personal issue with Aoife Valkyrie. Valkyrie is on a roll with no losses and a pair of wins over Isla Dawn and Amale.

A-Kid vs. Noam Dar

Noam doesn’t appear to like A-Kid all that much. Dar is 2-0 in 2020 with wins over Ligero and Joseph Morrell. A-Kid has been a little less likely with a 1-2 record defeating Brian Kendrick, but losing to Joseph Conners and Tyler Bate.
